
| SHATFORD, Bonar Law - 89, Halifax, formerly of Fox Point, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Fox Point, he was a son of the late Clyde and Sadie (Westhaver) Shatford. From 1941-1945 Bonar was in the navy, serving in the Second World War on the Minesweepers and Corvettes. Later he worked as a fisherman, a cook for the railway workers, and as a stationary engineer at CFB Mill Cove. He was a man of few words and many thoughts. Surviving is his only daughter, Bonny (Robert) Osgood, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Ensor; brothers, Hazen, Murray, Wilson; sisters, Edna Whynot, Florence Coolen, and Mable in infancy. In honour of his wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. There will be no service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
