
| SHATFORD, Desmond Harold - 72, St. Margaret's Bay, passed away at home surrounded by his family in St. Margaret's Bay Thursday, October 18, 2001. Born in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late Percy and Maureen (McCampson) Shatford. Desmond came to Nova Scotia at the age of nine months. He was a loving father, husband and respected member of the community. He was owner of D.H. Shatfords and Sons Garage in Seabright since January 15, 1973. He loved stock car racing, camping and traveling in the motor home, boxing and hockey. Surviving him are his loving wife of 24 years, Muriel (Bell) Shatford; sons, Steven (Cheryl Smith), Halifax; Michael (Susan Richardson), Brian (Wendy Hayes), both of French Village; daughters, Pamela (Terry) Zehr, Glen Margaret; Patricia (Patrick) Atton, Tantallon; stepdaughters, Bonnie (Ray) Crews (Fillmore), Tantallon Woods; Sandra (Terry) Pulsifer (Fillmore), Tantallon; Wendy (Robert) Brussard (Fillmore), St. Margaret's Bay; stepsons, Randy Fillmore, Timmy (Donna Graves) Fillmore, both of St. Margaret's Bay; sisters, Evelyn Theoret, Patricia Cherri, Beverly Annetta, all of California; brothers, Glen Shatford, Colorado; Kenny Shatford, New Brunswick; half-brother, Gregory Scott, Spryfield; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Isnor) Shatford; son, Terry Shatford; sister, Deloris Bain. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all. Cremation has taken place. Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 22, in the United Baptist Church, St. Margaret's Bay, Pastor Shant Manuel officiating. Reception to follow in Masonic Hall. A family committal service will be in St. Peters Anglican Church, Hackett's Cove at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or United Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Head of St. Margaret's Bay. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ronald A.
