86, Halifax, formerly of Ingramport, passed away Saturday January 21, 2012, in Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born in Barss Corner, she was the daughter of the late Dennis C. and Lila Bell (Wagner) Ramey. Erna lived a very active life in her community as a member of St. Andrews – St. Marks United Church Ingramport, and life time member of the UCW. She enjoyed White Caps seniors group, TOPS, bowling, bingo, card games and knitting. Her family is blessed with many fond memories of family get togethers and game nights. In 2002, as a result of a stroke, she became an active resident of Northwood. She was the loving mother of Veronica Snair; Wayne (Donna), Halifax; Jeanette (Bill) Thorne, Boutilier’s Point; and Larry (Shireen) Cambridge. She was “Nanny” to Steven, Kevin, Shelley, Shaynne, Benj, Niclaus, Crystal, Stephanie, Justin, and Devan and “Great Nanny” to 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Kathy Stevens, Ontario and Chris Stevens, Hubbards and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd and son-in-law Albert Snair, brothers Lloyd, Mervin, Donald and Carroll, sisters, Bernice and Gloria. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Special thanks to the staff , 4C, Northwood for many years of care and 8C during her final months. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Tuesday January 24, 2012, funeral service will be held 1 pm Wednesday January 25th both in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Tantallon. Rev. Ellen Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Northwood Foundation or charity of choice.
