| TREMBLAY, Debra Lynn - 50, Halifax, passed away
January 3, 2005, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, after a long
battle with lung cancer. Born June 11, 1954, she was the youngest daughter of
the late John and Marie (Hollahan) Tremblay. Debra graduated from the Convent of
the Sacred Heart and Saint Mary's University. Although she received a B.A. in English her passion was commerce. She worked for various financial institutions such as the bank of Nova Scotia, T.D. Bank and the Montreal Trust. She was a florist for many years, starting with Bumble Bee Flowers and finishing with the Greenery Florists. At this point, she joined the accounting team for Greenery Florists and the Wicker Emporium where she enjoyed many of her years. Health problems within her family made her leave the offices of Greeners and Wicker and she took over running the family business of managing apartment buildings, houses and new construction. As her health began to fail she sold off the family interests and could be found sitting on her front porch reading with the company of her three resident cats, Tarzan, "Tickle", Zulu and Fang. From her spot out front she had numerous bird feeders to the delight of Blue Jays, Grackles and squirrels. Survived by her sister, Roberta Ramsey, Boston, Mass.; nieces, Lisa and Heather; nephews, Mike, Jonathan and Mathew; her best friend, Donna foster. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Stevens. A celebration and visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. A committal service will be held at a later date in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Cottage or charity of choice. On-line condolences may be made to: www.rawalker.ca "I have gone through my life and while it may seem a short visit with you, I believe you have touched me in some small way and I hope I have touched you as well." |
