VAUGHAN, Thomas Allan - 88, Halifax, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at home. Born in Chatham, N.B., he was the son of the late Dr. Henry G. and Prudence (Goggin) Vaughan. Tom worked with the Bank of Montreal immediately after graduating from high school in Chatham, N.B. and remained with the bank for 49 years, serving as Branch Manager in Fairview, Shediac, N.B., Chatham, N.B., Halifax and Yarmouth. He retired from the bank as manager for mortgages, Atlantic Division. During his career he was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary, and Kiwanis. By vocation, he was a church organist and choir director, and served in this capacity for some 47 years in various Anglican churches in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret M. Macdonald; sons, Henry G., Halifax, Canon Kenneth (Barb), Liverpool; grandsons, Tom, Tim, Scott, Jeff, Danny and Doug. And we loved him dearly. He was predeceased by daughter, Helena (Mrs. Clyde Evans); sister, Helena P. (Mrs. Mac Gibson). Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, both in Cathedral Church of All Saints, Tower Road, Halifax, Rev. F.J. Hiltz officiating, assisted by Rev. Glen Burgomaster and Rev. John Swain, followed by placement of cremated remains in the Cathedral Columbarium.
