MEISTER, Delbert St. Clare "Del" - 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully
Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax,
surrounded by his loving family. Born in Forties, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of
the late Michael and Hazel (Hiltz) Meister. Del was a well-known Halifax
businessman and will be remembered as a loving father and beloved grandfather.
He is survived by his companion, Pat LeFaive, Halifax; son, Delbert (Helen),
Halifax; daughters, Pamela (Norman) Brooks, Bedford; Laurie Ann (Brian) Beaver,
Halifax; brother, Charles (Geraldine), Bridgewater; sisters, Marguerite (Jack
Rolfe), Halifax; Faye (Phil Backman), Chester Basin; Jean (Ernie) Pile, Toronto;
Peggy Bale, Florida; grandchildren, Katrina, Lindsay, Mathew, Jodie, Tiffany,
Chad; great-grandchild, Connor; a number of nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his wife, the former Eva Murphy; brother, Ken; sisters, Helen and
Alma. It was Del's wishes to return home to his birthplace. Funeral will be held
2 p.m. Monday, April 11, in St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Forties, Lunenburg
Co., Rev. Leonard Bednar officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society and/or the VG Site,

MORRISON, Peter Carl
MORRISON, Peter Carl - 49, Silsbee, Tex., passed away April 7, 2005. Born in
Halifax, June 20, 1955, he was a son of Ewen Morrison and the late Fern (Ernst)
Morrison. Peter, a bricklayer by trade, had spent the last eight years in Texas.
He grew up in Fall River and Pigott Lake and had lived a number of years in Fox
Point, before going to Texas. He was always generous with his time and skills to
family and friends. A hard and tireless worker, Peter was constantly on the go.
He is survived by his wife, Alma (Balzerette); stepsons, Christopher and Jason;
daughter, Melissa (Matthew) Smith, Sackville; son, Shawn (Athena), Halifax;
grandchildren, Juliette and Meadow; sister, Carol (Cameron) Snow, Fall River;
brothers, Ewen (Sherry), Yarmouth; Wayne (Lynn), Oakfield; Richard (Susan),
Shubenacadie; James (Janet), St. Margaret's Bay; several nieces and nephews. The
family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 15, with memorial service 1
p.m. Saturday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road,
Tantallon, Rev. Michael H. Mitchell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
McEACHERN, Carl E.
McEACHERN, Carl E. - 82, formerly of Black Point, passed away April 8, 2005, in
Melville Lodge, Halifax. Born in Boutilier's Point, he was the eldest son of the
late Donald and Eunice (Eldershawe) McEachern. Carl served overseas with the
West Nova Scotia regiment during the Second World War. Upon returning from
service, he took up residence in Black Point and was employed at the former Can-exel
Plant in East River as a Stationary Engineer. He was a member of Black Point
Fire Department and held the position as chief from 1962-1966. Surviving are
brothers, Lester (Barb), Harry, Cecil (Clarice), all of Boutilier's Point, and
many nieces and nephews. Carl will be dearly missed by his friend, Lilly
MacDonald. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Wilnoff; brothers,
Duncan and a brother, Gordon, in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the
direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. At Carl's request, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. A committal service will take place 10 a.m.
Monday, April 11, in Black Point Cemetery, Rev. Carolyn Palmer officiating. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation
and/or Lung Association of Nova Scotia, or charity of choice would be

COLE, Gregory Andrew
COLE, Gregory Andrew - 57, Gold River, passed away April 9, 2005, in the New
Halifax Infirmary, QEII, after a lengthy illness. Born in Queensland on December
24, 1947, he was the son of Dr. Philip Cole, Hubbards and Mary Cole, Chester. He
was an avid hunter and sports fisherman and loved gardening. Besides his
parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Carolyn Floyd; son, Brad,
Chester; daughter, Thaila (Troy McDow), Chester Basin; grandson, Javin McDow;
sister, Sheila Hamblen, Hammonds Plains; several nieces and nephews. Cremation
has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards.
A private family burial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to
the SPCA in Lunenburg County. It is with heartfelt thanks the family would like
to thank the doctors and nurses at both the South Shore Regional Hospital and
the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, for their care and compassion while Greg was a

HARNISH, Tony Odess
HARNISH, Tony Odess - 42, East River, passed away April 11, 2005, in the QEII
Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born in Halifax, April 12, 1962, he was the son of Odess and Carol (Harnish)
Harnish, Mill Cove. Tony's love for his family will be remembered by all that
knew him. He and his daughter, Lori-Ann had special interest in their classic 69
Camaro. Tyler and his father enjoyed their involvement in minor hockey. Tony was
avid sport fisherman, hunter and ATVer. He spent many hours at his cottage on
Fox Point Lake and will be remembered by many of the residents cruising the lake
with his friends on his love boat. Besides his parents, he is survived by his
wife, the former Cindy R. Cook; son, Tyler; daughter, Lori-Ann, both at home;
brothers, Randall (Tina), Liverpool; Kirk, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; sister, Gail,
Mill Cove; maternal grandmother, Helen Harnish, Mill Cove; brothers-in-law,
David Cook, Sackville; Randy (Dawn) Cook, East River; sisters-in-law, Darlene
(Danny) Kaizer, East River; Christine (Wade) Oakley, Beech Hill; numerous
uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Thursday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service 11
a.m. Friday in St. Stephens Anglican Church, Chester, Rev. Jim McCorriston and
Rev. Dan Green officiating. Burial to follow in St. George's Church Cemetery,

HUBLEY, Marie Amanda
HUBLEY, Marie Amanda - 75, Seabright, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, in
Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Seabright, she was a daughter of the late
Edward and Margaret (Dempsey) Deal. Marie was well-known for her quick wit and
great sense of humour. She kept a scrapbook and made journal entries daily of
all events of everyday life. She loved outings with her family, as well as tea
time with friends and neighbours. She looked forward to daily telephone calls
with her friends, Jean and Florence. She is survived by son, Paul, Halifax;
daughter, Diane (Barry) Whiting, Seabright; brother, John, Seabright; sisters,
Geraldine "Dolly" and Eileen Sheppard, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Sandra
Whiting, Seabright; Barry Jr. (Alicia) Whiting, Halifax. She was predeceased by
her husband, Winfred. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon.
Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Margaret's of Scotland Church, Glen
Margaret, Father Jim Richards officiating. Burial to follow in the church

BARNES, Donald
BARNES, Donald - 83, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away April 21, 2005, in
QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Black Point, he was a son of the
late Charles and Edna (Hubley) Barnes. He is survived by his children, Hazel
(Wayne) Coolen, Eric (Anita) and Linda Fenton; grandchildren, Michael, Laura
Lee, Carrie, Chris, and Michelle. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen;
brothers, Allen, Henry and Ray; son-in-law, George Fenton. Cremation has taken
place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. At Dad's request
there will be no funeral. His children and grandchildren will bury him and Mom,
who passed away on August 27, 2004, together, at a later date. Thank you to the
