DRAKE, Patricia Eileen Florence ìTishî-77, Head of St. Margaretís Bay, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late William and Muriel (Coolen) Barnes. Tish was raised in Halifax and then moved to Head of St. Margaretís Bay with her husband over 50 years ago. In her earlier years, she worked with Maritime Tel & Tel. She was involved with her church, St. Georgeís Anglican Church; a keen sports person, including bowling softball and basketball. She was also an avid bingo and card player. She ìNannyî loved the company of Deniseís dog, Chelsea. She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Glen) Hicks, Head of St. Margaretís Bay. She was predeceased by her husband, John Dennis; brother, Walter, Eric; sisters, Rita (Doug) Fraser and June. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggyís Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, in St. Georgeís Anglican Church, Head of St. Margaretís Bay, Rev. JOLLYMORE, Donald Richard - 47, Sims Settlement, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Helen L. (Graves) Young, Sims Settlement, and the late Wilson Jollymore. Donnie worked a few years in the local fishing industry and spent 23 years working with Canxel in East River. He was an avid sportsman playing baseball and hockey. He took great pleasure in sport fishing on Fox Point Lake. Donnie will be remembered for his favourite welcome comment to his many friends, "Hello Pirate". Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons, Jeremy and Justin, both of Chester Basin; Logan and Landen, Martins Point; brothers, Robert, Lloyd (Joey), Sims Settlement; Wilson (Karen), Michael (Wendy), both of Mill Cove; sister, Debbie (Bobby) Harlow, Hubbards, and 13 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Reginald. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. SNAIR, Keith C. - 74, Ingramport, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Ingramport, he was a son of the late Ferman and Nellie (Manuel) Snair. Keith was a master carpenter working many years with the former Colonial Homes, Ingramport, and also will be remembered for his many woodworking items to be found in the family's homes and they will always be a special remembrance of him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camps in the St. Margaret's Bay area. He and his wife also enjoyed their cottage in Cheverie. He will be remembered for his gentle manner and kind personality and will be missed by his family and many friends. Survived by his wife, Ethel (Boutilier-Myra); sons, Terry (Debbie) Boutilier, Sackville; Douglas (Dianne) Boutilier, Tony (Denise) Boutilier, both of Boutilier's Point; daughters, Lillian (J.Pat) Walsh, Boutilier's Point; Annie (Don) Martin, Ingramport; June (Kenny) Martin, Fairview; 11 grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; brothers, Reg (Marion), Byron (Joan), both of Boutilier's Point; Albert (Veronica), Black Point; Clifford, Ingramport; Mickey, Hubbards; Art, Eric (Doris), both of Ontario; sisters, Dorothy Lohnes, Hubbards; Betty Childs, Halifax; Kathleen (Clemeth) Nickerson, Gwen (Wayne) Brown, all of Ontario; many nieces, nephews and cousins. FRALICK, Kenneth Garnet - 68, Hackett's Cove, passed away at home on April 9, 2008. Born in Hackett's Cove, he was a son of the late Garnet and Cora (Boutilier) Fralick. Before Kenneth and his son, Kenneth Jr., started South West Industries Ltd. on Quinpool Road in Halifax, Kenneth started his sales career with the Ollivetti Underwood Typewriter Company where he progressed to become a Regional Manager in St. John's, N.L. Ken was also very active in the local fishery with his son, Kevin, where he was involved with the local Fisherman's Associations and various boards. In semi-retirement, Ken, also enjoyed selling cars for the Oregan's Group in Halifax. Ken's passion in life was the time he spent serving as a county councilor with the former Halifax County Council. Ken served on all major boards and committees for the council and enjoyed serving people. Ken was fondly known in the community as "Councilor Ken". Ken was also nominated and ran as the Provincial Conservative Candidate in the St. Margaret's Bay Area. Ken was an avid sport fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed these outdoor activities with is son, Michael. Ken will be remembered by his grandchildren for his guitar playing and love of music. Ken was very proud to have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on October 26, 2007. He is survived by his wife, the former Darlene V. Hubley; sons, Kenneth Jr. (Elizabeth "Libby"), Seabright; Kevin (Janet), Hackett's Cove; Michael (Vineeta), Fall River; grandchildren, Stephanie, Steven, and Roy; brothers, Ralph (Phyllis), and sister, Pauline Morash, both of Hackett's Cove. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 14, and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, both in Ronald A. BEANLANDS, Margaret Alma - 97, Halifax, formerly of Seabright, passed away Monday April 14, 2008, at her residence in Melville Heights, Halifax. We are saddened by the loss of our very special mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Truro on February 22, 1911, she was a daughter of the late James and Melissa (Hennigar) Tibbitts. In her earlier years, Mom worked at Margolians and as a dental assistant in Truro. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her two daughters. Mom always enjoyed family gatherings, watching hockey, baseball and playing cards. She was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. She also loved her home on the ocean in Seabright, bowling, traveling and playing the ukulele with the White Caps Seniors Club. Mom was so loved and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Sandra (Randy) Piercey, Fredericton, N.B., and Carol (Greg) Simms, Hubbards. Also left behind and who will miss her dearly are her granddaughters, Amy (Jason) Reid, Jill Piercey, Melissa (Jeff) Lloyd, Julie Piercey, Carrie Simms, and great-granddaughter, Mya May Reid; stepdaughters, Joan Allen, Doris MacIsaac, and stepson, John Beanlands, all of Halifax; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Lottie Canning. Mom was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Matson, and her second husband, Herbert Beanlands; brothers, Pat, Tom, Art, Fred "Ted", and George "Bud" Tibbitts; sister, Alice Gill. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 17, and funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. HALL, Trevor Terrance Frederick - 48, Hackett's Cove, passed away suddenly on Wednesday April 16, 2008, in Saint John, N.B. Born in Halifax he was a son of Gerelynn (Michaelsen) Hall, Hackett's Cove and the late Frederick Hall. Trevor was a devoted father and will be missed sadly by his children. He was employed with Costal Restoration and Masonry. He was also an avid dart player and enjoyed sports. Survived by daughters, Jessica, Hackett's Cove; Sarah, Cape Breton; brother, Troy, Hackett's Cove; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Vera Hall; maternal grandparents, Rhoda and Svend Michaelsen. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. JOLLIMORE, Ethel Jean - 85, Queensland, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Black Point, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Blanche (Brigley) Hayter. Ethel was an avid painter, enjoyed playing the uke and also loved to play bingo. She was a member of the former St. John's Anglican Church Guild, Queensland. In her earlier years she worked at Sears and also worked as a short order cook at Queensland Beach Canteen where it was said that she made "a hamburger a beautiful thing". She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Douglas) Floyd, Queensland. She was predeceased by her husband, Percy; brothers, Cecil "Aubbie", Douglas, and Kenneth Roy. A family committal service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards, Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. DAVIS, Pauline Marie - Hubbards, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Oschar and Florence (Westhaver) Baker and stepfather Aaron Anesty. In spite of her illness, Pauline never lost her sense of humour and always kept a positive outlook. She loved people and had many friends. She had a passion for bingo and going to restaurants. Recently she received a plaque from the Hubbards District Fire Department for her long-standing service as a volunteer. She was a member of the Fox Point Lionettes for many years. Pauline was a regular parishioner at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Hubbards. She leaves behind her loving family, her husband, Harold; daughters, Mary Ellen (Rick Marryatt) Flinn, Hatchet Lake; Dorothy (Greg) Spinney, Coldbrook; Sherri (Stuart) Dow, Goodwood; Jane, Hubbards; Heidi (Stephen) Sangster, Waterville; son, Michael, Hubbards. Pauline also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Sara, Adam, Aaron, Jeremy, Jessica, Tracy, Lisa, Michael, Angela, Ryan and Justin, and her most special great-granddaughter, Danika. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. HARNISH, Sandra Viola - 64, Mill Cove, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 25, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Mill Cove, she was a daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Jollimore) Murphy. Her warm smile and kind personality earned her a place in all our hearts. She was never concerned with herself, but always put the welfare of others ahead of her own. Although not feeling well, she never lost her sense of humour and quick wit. Her presence made any gathering come to life. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her devoted husband, Winfield; sons, Winfield (Dorothy), Scott (Heather), both of Mill Cove; daughter, Roseann (Wade) Rattray, Sackville; brother, Barry, and sister, Carolyn (Frank) Dorey, both Mill Cove; grandchildren, Julia, Amanda, Carlie, and Nicole. FLANAGAN (Beer), Catherine Ann - 33, Seabright, passed away from cancer on Tuesday April 29, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Charlottetown, she was a daughter of Ian and Joyce (Warren) Beer, Charlottetown. Catherine graduated from Charlottetown Rural High School as well as Holland College, Prince Edward Island. She worked as an administrative assistant, Dermatology Department in the Dickson Centre, Halifax, for three years. She also worked in the Physical Medicine Department at the Rehabilitation Centre. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; sister, Barbara Beer, Toronto, Ont. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 2, funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. McEACHERN, Leslie Duncan - 57, passed away on April 29, 2008, in a tragic boating accident. Les was born in Halifax, the son of the late Rose and Duncan McEachern. He lived in Tangier before moving to Boutilier's Point with his family at a young age. Growing up in Boutilier's Point, he developed a strong love for the outdoors, and spent much of his time hunting, camping and fishing. While work initially took him elsewhere, Boutilier's Point always remained in his heart, and he returned there in 1985 to raise his family. Les worked in the seafood industry for 30 years and was an entrepreneur of several seafood brokerages. He experienced great success as the President and C.E.O. of Fortune Seas Canada, and most recently as the President of Ocean Street Seafoods. Les was very active in the minor hockey system, and played a prominent role in the development of TASA minor hockey. He served as Vice-president and President of TASA minor hockey from 1990-1995, and also served on the Board of Directors of the St. Margaret's Bay Arena Association. During this time, he also enjoyed coaching his son's minor hockey team. In 1995 he was named the St. Margaret's Bay Citizen of the Year by the St. Margaret's Bay Lion's Club in recognition of his outstanding contribution to his community, which also included organizing the restoration of an outdoor rink in Boutilier's Point. Les was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and taking in NASCAR races with his wife and many friends. Les was most happy when he was with his family, who meant the world to him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Les is survived by his wife of 34 years, his soul mate and best friend, Debbie (Martell); his son, Jeremy (Yung Cheung), and daughter, Lori (Adam MacNeil), who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise (Roddy Christie), Debbie (Kevin Boutilier), Rosann McEachern; mother-in-law, Delina Martell; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Brian Carter), Darlene Picco; brother-in-law, John Martell; nieces and nephews, Joel and Quentin Christie, and Quentin's daughter Helena, Jan and Michael Boutilier, Brittany, Colin, and Emily Carter, Sidney Picco, and godparents, Lionel and Gladys Mason, Tangier. The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, in St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating.
