COLES, Patricia Ann "Janice" - 63, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2005, in QEII Heath Sciences Centre, surrounded by her family. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Walter LeBlanc and the late Jeanette LeBlanc. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald; daughter, Dawn (Glen) Isenor, Stillwater Lake; son, Darren (Maria), Halifax; granddaughters, Lauren and Leah Isenor, Stillwater Lake; her sisters, Jill Clarke, Windsor; Sandra D'Eon, Yarmouth; Meredith Robbins, Ottawa, and Susan Stuart, North Carolina. A loving mother and devoted wife she will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral mass will be held 9 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church, Hammonds Plains Road, Father Joseph McKinnon officiating. STEVENS, Kevin Paul - 50, Seabright, passed away suddenly on December 20, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Ship Harbour, he was the second youngest son of Ruth and Winnifred (Eisan) Stevens, Ship Harbour, and the late Edson Harris Stevens. Kevin is survived by his wife, Sheila (Regan); son, John Edson (Sheri); daughter, Erin, and three precious grandchildren, all of Dartmouth; sisters, Diana Hanley (Doug), Barbara Miller (Keith), Brenda Boutilier (Jim), all of Dartmouth; brothers, Carl (Louise), Terry (Donna), both of Dartmouth; Stanley (Marilyn), Upper Stewiacke; Eldon (Beverley), Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. Kevin was a stationary engineer 1st class and also held a 2nd class refrigeration certificate. He was retired from the former Camp Hill Hospital Power Plant. He enjoyed meeting people, playing cards, his guitar and gardening. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and a member of the KOC Council 7302, Cole Harbour and the White Caps Seniors Club. Kevin was a devoted husband and father. He was a kind, gentle and quiet man having patiently endured so many medical challenges. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, December 26, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, in Blessed Pope John XXIII Church, 35 Colby Dr., Cole Harbour, Father Paul Morris officiating. Interment to follow at 1 p.m. in St. Augustine's/St. Anthony's Church Cemetery, Simms Settlement. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. SIMS, Vernon Almon - 91, Hubbards, passed away December 29, 2005, at home. Born in Sims Settlement, he was a son of the late James and Marie (Dauphinee) Sims. Vernon was a member of the Clarke Masonic Lodge No. 61 since 1944, receiving his 50 year award in 1994. He is survived by his son, Gaye (Barbara), Boutilier's Point; daughter, Joan (Bruce) Bolivar, Dayspring; grandchildren, David Bolivar, Toronto; Danny (Crystal) Bolivar, Dartmouth; Jane Bolivar, Halifax; Julie Sims, Halifax; Deborah (Jesse) Malaidack, Timberlea; Wendy (Richard) Weckworth, Whitby; great-grandchildren, Matthew Bolivar, Toronto; Courtney Bolivar, Dartmouth; Connor Weckworth, Whitby; Elliot Malaidack, Timberlea; brother, Bud Sims, Bedford; sisters, Shirley Heartz, Tantallon; Velma King, Timberlea; Rose O'Brien, Spryfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Garland (Baker) Sims; son, James; grandson, Stephen; brothers, Charles, Ward, Roderick, and Harry; sisters, Ruby, Meda, June, and Madge. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 1, from 1-3 p.m., and the Clarke Masonic Lodge No. 61 will hold a memorial service at 2.30 p.m., both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Burial to be in Sims Cemetery, Sims Settlement.
