JUDGE, Douglas Charles- 60, of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by his family and closest friends. Born July 4th, 1949, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Walter and Fredricka (Dolly) Judge. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Margaret Anne Judge (McNeil) and children, Jamie Judge and his wife Stephanie (Corey) Judge, Tantallon; Susan Judge, Middleton; Adam Judge, St. Margaret's Bay; and his grandchildren, Nathan and Adrienne Judge. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Dolly. Those who knew Doug well know that he enjoyed the great outdoors; he loved to spend time on the water boating and diving. He also enjoyed his time at the camp hunting and sharing great laughs with his family and friends. Doug was an entrepreneur who owned and operated his own company Inventive Marine Products Ltd. for the past 20 years. Doug was a true gentleman, a natural leader, a loyal friend and a loving husband, father, and granddad. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held, Wednesday, December 9, at 2 p.m. in Shining Waters Marine, 148 Nautical Way, Tantallon. Memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Lennett J. Anderson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Victorian Order of Nurses Canada or Canadian Mental Health. MILLER, Al Thomas- 49, of Fox Point, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009, at home. Born in Toronto, Ont., he was the son of the late Roy and Shelia Ann (Owers) Miller. He is survived by his wife, Bonny L. (Kelly); Al will be missed by his best buddy, Jayzer. Al will be deeply missed by his special brother, Greg and Nancy Annesley and family of Belleville, Ont.; Al will be forever in the hearts of his in-laws, Don and Ellen Kelly, Lindsay, Ont.; Linda and Keith Coad, Oshawa, Ont.; Mike Kelly and Irene Huhta, Brampton, Ont.; Donna and Terry West, Oakwood, Ont.; Tim and Donna Kelly, Calgary, Alta.; Debbie and Abe Perrault, Lindsay, Ont.; Tracey and John Villareal, Calgary, Alta.; also a number of nieces and nephews. A family visitation was held in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. A committal service will take place at a later date in Lindsay, Ont. TANNER (Snair), Dawn Cymbaline- Queensland, September 1, 1929 - December 15, 2009. Dawn passed away in Arborstone Nursing Home, but spent most of her life in her family home in Queensland. She will be lovingly remembered for her homemade pies, and her beautiful hooked rugs are her legacy. Born in Queensland, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary Snair. She was predeceased by brothers, David, Richard, Kitchner, and Leo; sisters, Maise, Goldie and Ellen, and infant sister, Madge, and infant brother, Kitchner. Dawn was also predeceased by her husband, Clyde Morton Tanner. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette (Terry) VanTassel; son, Donald (Shelley); grandchildren, Diane (Darren) Porter and Ella Tanner; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Scott Comeau. MAILMAN, Madeline Lavetta "Mady" -81. It is with saddened hearts that we announce that Madeline Mailman passed away on December 22, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Manuel) Graves of Black Point. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Helen Graves, Halifax; and brothers, Rodney Graves, Halifax; Bernard (Hazel) Graves, Stewiacke; and Gordon Graves, Alberta. She was a wonderful mom to her children, Douglas (Brenda) Graves, Ontario; Helen Mailman, Halifax; and Patricia Mailman, Lakeside. A special "Nan" to her grandchildren, Heidi (Sean) Shea-McGowan, Tantallon; Darrin (Jill) Wilson, Fox Point; and Dawn (Brad Lohnes) Wilson, Hubbards. Affectionately known as"Nanny Mom" to her great-grandchildren, Owen Shea-McGowan, Callum Shea-McGowan, Jenna Wilson, Jayden Wilson, and step- great-grandson, Tristan Kelly and "Nanny Mailbox" to her youngest great-granddaughter, Haley Wilson. She was predeceased by her parents, and brothers, Murray, George, Charles and Scott. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at a later date. McNeil, Sandra Carol - 65. Heaven has enrolled a new Angel! Sandra passed away peacefully Friday, December 4, 2009, at home with her loved ones by her side in Caledonia, Queens Co. She was the daughter of Allen and Elsie Mac Neil Tantallon. She is survived by her best friend and caregiver, Carmen Westhaver; children, Janice (Norman), Bernie (Marilyn); brother, Allen (Karen); sisters, Maureen (Ken), Heather (Steven or Ike); grandchildren, Murray (Linda), Calgary, Alta.; Jason and Michelle, both of Tantallon; great grandchildren, Josolyn and Jessica, Calgary and Jessica and Cory, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Lynn. Sandy worked most of her life as a caregiver in Melville Lodge and most recently in North Queens Nursing Home, where after her retirement she volunteered on the Palliative Care Committee of North Queens. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, December 6 from Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral Service 11 a.m., Monday, December 7 from St. Margaret's Anglican Church, Tantallon. Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery. KAIZER, Elizabeth Anne (Lindsay)- 75, Hubley passed away Wednesday December 1, 2010 in Glades Lodge, Halifax. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Laura Lindsay. Betty known as “Mom” worked many years in the Sir John A. MacDonald High School cafeteria. Survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 57 years, Carl; children, Roseanne (Mike) & Dianne (Robert) Anderson; Pat & Laurence (Lisa); seven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; brothers, James, Australia; Donald (Cecilia); William (Norma); sisters, Grace Johnson; Anne (Leonard) Tufts, all of Dartmouth. Predeceased by son, Michael; six brothers and six sisters. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday December 3rd in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday December 4th in St Andrews Anglican Church, Timberlea. Rev. Michael Conrad officiating.  A special thanks and consideration to the staff of Glade’s Lodge for their care and compassion over the past five years.
