JOLLYMORE, Reginald Alden - 52, Sims Settlement, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Helen L. (Graves) Young, Sims Settlement, and the late Wilson Jollymore. Reginald worked all his life in the fishing industry in the Mill Cove area and was an avid card player. When he wasn't fishing, Reginald loved spending time with his cat, Sandy. Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Robert, Lloyd (Joey), Donnie, all of Sims Settlement; Wilson (Karen), Michael (Wendy), both of Mill Cove; sister, Debbie (Bobby) Harlow, Hubbards, and 13 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, and funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards, Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter or the S.P.C.A. SLAUENWHITE, Richard B. Sr. "Jack" - 85, Halifax, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. He was born in Jollimore Village on October 5, 1922, to the late Gilbert and Victoria Slauenwhite. Jack served overseas in the Second World War in the Princess Louise Fusiliers and later with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He worked as a storemen with the Federal Government at Windsor Park and the Dockyard until his retirement. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter, and spent many years enjoying both. He is survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Beatrice "Bea"; son, Richard B. (Brenda); daughter, Shirley Frederiksen; also four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Haliburton and Arthur; sisters, Lottie, Jean, Mary, Helen, and Doris. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. Burial will take place at a later date. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses of units 4.2 and 8.2 of the Halifax Infirmary, also the nurses of VON and Red Cross Home Care Workers. SHATFORD, Bonar Law - 89, Halifax, formerly of Fox Point, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Fox Point, he was a son of the late Clyde and Sadie (Westhaver) Shatford. From 1941-1945 Bonar was in the navy, serving in the Second World War on the Minesweepers and Corvettes. Later he worked as a fisherman, a cook for the railway workers, and as a stationary engineer at CFB Mill Cove. He was a man of few words and many thoughts. Surviving is his only daughter, Bonny (Robert) Osgood, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Ensor; brothers, Hazen, Murray, Wilson; sisters, Edna Whynot, Florence Coolen, and Mable in infancy. In honour of his wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. There will be no service. A private burial will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Nancy Paris and Merrie Mills, his special caregivers, and the staff of 8.1, Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. ISENOR, Dawn Michelle Anne - 43, Stillwater Lake, passed away peacefully Friday February 29, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by her family, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in Aberystwyth, Wales, she was the only daughter of Ronald Coles, Head, St. Margaret's Bay, and the late Janice Coles. Besides her father, she is survived by her husband of 21 years, Glenn; daughters, Lauren and Leah, Stillwater Lake; brother, Darren (Maria), Halifax; maternal grandfather, Walter Leblanc, Yarmouth; maternal aunts, Jill, Meredith, Sandy, and Susan; father and mother-in-law, Ross and Helen Isenor; sisters-in-law, Debbie and Gail (Marcus) Goodick; nephew, Alex, all of Dartmouth. Dawn moved to Canada with her parents in 1970 and attended Sir John A. MacDonald High School and later Kings College, graduating from Dalhousie University with a commerce degree. She later worked in the Marketing Department of MT&T, before resigning to raise her two daughters. In more recent years she operated her own web design business. She was involved in volunteer work, especially on the board of directors of the Unicorn Theatre. She was a loving mother and devoted wife who will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday March 4, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday March 5, in St. James Church, Hammonds Plains Road, Father Joe McKinnon officiating.
