SNAIR, Maurice Percival "Morrie"
- 74. It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Maurice Snair of
Queensland on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Born in Black Point, he was the son of
the late Percy and Edna (Brigley) Snair. Maurice, known as Morrie or Joe was an
employee of Brookfield Bros., for many years and spent 19 years with G.C. Snair
& Son as a Burner Mechanic retiring in 1990. Maurice was also a founding member
of Black Point Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita (MacAdams);
daughter, Carol Ann (Hugh Townsend), Sims Settlement; brothers, Ronald
(Shirley), Timberlea; Douglas (Jackilyn), Queensland; sister, Doris (Burnald)
Harnish, Queensland and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
sister, Janet. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. followed by a
funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, from Ronald A. Walker Funeral
Home, Hubbards, Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. Burial will take place at a
later date from St. Johns Anglican Church Cemetery, Queensland. In lieu of

MacDONALD, Wayne Douglas -
61, of Birchy Head, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in South Shore
Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Mary (Sanders)
MacDonald, Sackville and the late Arthur MacDonald. Wayne will always be
remembered by his wife, mother, brothers and many friends as a kind and gentle
man. He was an avid sport fisherman and a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He retired
with many years of service from Canxel, East River, for medical reasons. Wayne
had a special spot in his heart for animals and spoiled his cat Tabitha. Besides
his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rose (Harnish); brothers,
Allan (Joslyn), Enfield; Barry, Dartmouth; Roger (Kim), St. Croix, and many
nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. followed by
a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral

HARNISH, Douglas Granville- 69, of
Birchy Head, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in QEII Health Sciences
Centre, Halifax. Born in East River, he was a son of the late Granville and
Clara (Melvin) Harnish. Doug was known throughout our communities as a Master
Mechanic and could fix any mechanical problem brought to his attention. Doug
was a natural musician and could play pretty much any musical instrument. He
was a local historian, knowing many of the local family trees and property
lines throughout our communities. Doug will be remembered by his family and
many friends as a quiet, gentle person and will be lovingly remembered by all.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald, Hubbards; sister, Celia (Richard)
Heisler, Birchy Head; nieces and nephews, Katrina, Hubbards; Richard (Karen),
Birchy Head and Mary, Victoria, Dakota and Lincoln. The family will receive
visitors 4-7 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral
service 2 p.m. Friday from St. Mark's Anglican Church, Mill Cove, Rev. Laurie
Omstead officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery,
Fox Point.
DEVEAU, Jennifer Anne- 58,
of Haliburton Hill's passed away February 3, 2010, at home. Born in
Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Stella (Mott) Murphy.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; sons, Noel, Dartmouth; Luke, Halifax;
brother, John Murphy, Bedford; sisters, Theresa Wilson, Auburn; Toni Heatley,
Middle Musquoidoboit; Linda Collins, Bundaburg, Australia; grandchildren,
Brandon and Logan. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother,
Drew Murphy. A time to celebrate and remember Jennifer's life will be held
2-4 p.m. Friday, February 19th, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549

SNAIR, Clifford Ross- 80, of
Ingramport, passed away Thursday February 10, 2010, at home. Born in
Ingramport, he was a son of the late Firman and Nellie (Manuel) Snair.
Clifford worked for 45 years with Schwartz & Sons until he retired five
years ago. He was a gardener, loved planting flowers and tried his green
thumb at growing pumpkins. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed the outdoors.
Clifford lived the life he wanted to live. He was a kind and generous to his
friends and family. He will be missed by all. Survived by his brothers,
Eric, Oakville, Ont.; Malcolm, Hubbards; Albert, Boutilier's Point; sisters,
Dorothy Lohnes, Hubbards; Elizabeth Childs, Halifax; Kathleen "Toots"
Nickerson, Burlington, Ont.; Gwen Brown, Milton, Ont.; and many nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Gordon in infancy, Keith, Dan, Reginald,
Arthur and Byron; sister, Evelyn Waltherr. A service celebrating Clifford's
life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday February 16 in Ronald A. Walker Funeral

MEEKINS, Cecil Embert- 92,
of Fox Point, Lunenburg Co. It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the
peaceful passing of Cecil E. Meekins, beloved husband, father, grandfather
and great-grandfather, on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in South Shore
Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in
Lower Five Islands, he was the son of the late Amos and Eva (Pugsley)
Meekins. Cecil was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was
a Second World War veteran and served with the Canadian Army. Cecil was
employed with Burns Fisheries, Hubbards and later with the Corps of
Commissionaires at Canadian Forces, Mill Cove, until his retirement. He
loved animals and his ducks that would fly to the front yard when called to
be fed. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A special thank you
to Dr. Heather Robertson and the nurses on the third floor. Surviving are
his loving wife of 63 years, the former Beulah Coolen; daughters, Jeanne
(Arles) Harnish and Judy (Gary) Harnish of Fox Point; grandchildren, Arles
Jr. (Jennifer), Jacqueline (Michael), Krista and Crystal;
great-grandchildren, Dawson, Natasha, Jade, Alexander, Miles, Mason and
Chasity. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, James, Harvey, Asa and Amos
and sisters, Alice and Marybelle. No visitation by request. There will be a
private graveside service in Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery, Fox Point with
Pastor Reid Coolen officiating. All arrangements entrusted to Ronald A.

JOLLIMORE, Wayne Lionel- 69,
of Queensland, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in QEII Health
Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Margeson
and Aileen (Seaboyer) Jollimore. Wayne loved the outdoors. He really enjoyed
spending time at the camp, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and ATVing. He
enjoyed driving by the ocean and he spent many pleasant afternoons and
evenings driving back the Mersey. Wayne had spent a short term in the army
before he was employed with the Department of National Defence as a driver
with over 30 years service, retiring in 1997. Over the years he made many
trips to Boston for Atlantic Sea Products. Wayne is survived by his companion
of 44 years, Marilyn; their two children, Craig (Trina), Sims Settlement and
their sons, Mitchell and Nicholas; daughter, Tania, Hubbards; children, from
his previous marriage, Timmy (Suzzanne), Sims Settlement; and their son Luke;
Wendy (Peter), Seabright. He was predeceased by an infant sister. Wayne liked
the simple things, there will be no visitation or service as he requested. All

HUTT, Murray Dalton- 85, of
Tantallon, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, in the QEII Health

BOUTILIER, Barbara Ellen "Bunny"-
71, Halifax, died suddenly at home Saturday, February 27, 2010. Born in Halifax,
she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Edith (Johnson) Passfield. Bunny was
an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and worked as Treasurer for the
Halifax Central Poppy Fund for many years and was the Poppy Chairman for the
White Ensign Legion Branch No. 129. She was on the Board of Directors for Walter
Callow Bus Services and a former employee of Scotia Fuels. Bunny enjoyed
spending time at her cottage in Clam Harbour and challenging all her friends to
a game of crib. She will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for
her many kind acts and generosity to all. Bunny was predeceased by her husband,
Ian. Survived by her son, Lawson (Lorri), Delta, B.C.; daughter, Ruth (Evan Roy)
Boutilier, Seabright; brother, Harry "O". (Wendy Isnor) Passfield, Indian
Harbour; grandsons, Chase Boutilier, Delta, B.C.; Joseph Bellefontaine (Roy),
Ontario; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service
will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549
