GAILEY (Wade), Sarah Frances - Seabright and Lewis Lake. And so, gone now too, a wonderful person and friend to all who knew her. With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Frances, 84, on Monday, January 22, 2007, in Halifax. Frances was predeceased this past November by Hugh, her beloved husband of 58 years. She goes to join her parents, Harry and Ruby (Collins) Wade; brother-in-law, Gordon Fisher, and infant grandson, Julian Foster. Our beautiful mother will be greatly missed by her five daughters, Gillian Gailey (Richard Snell), Janet Malloch (Paul "Mal" Malloch), Beverley Gailey-Roach (Tony Roach), Lorraine Gailey and Michelle Gailey. Her loss will be deeply felt by her dear Wade relatives and all her treasured grandchildren, Fletcher (Alaina) and Kiri Gailey-Snell, Carly, Campbell and Jesse Malloch, Gregory (Christy), Nicholas and Stephen Foster; and stepgranddaughters, Meagan (Matt) Robichaud and Jillian Roach. She was the loving Aunt Fran of Michael (Lucille), Leslie (Stuart Allan), Mark (Patti) and Clare (Shawn McLean) and their wonderful children, and friend to her sister-in-law, Virginia (Dinny) Fisher. Frances will be fondly remembered by Marjorie Fisher, Meredith Bell, Barb Myers and Joan Whitney, and all her Seabright Idler friends. Frances was fiercely patriotic and interrupted her B.A. studies at King's College and University of New Brunswick in 1943 to serve in the Women's Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program. She eventually did graduate in 1947. Always a free spirit, Frances' creative talents shone through her quilting, knitting and weaving, her scanned photo placemats, "theme" baking, her collection of African violets, and the special messages in every card or note she sent. A phenomenal multi-tasker, she loved being surrounded by family and friends, listening and empathizing, while flipping through a voluminous dictionary for exactly the right spelling of 10-across on the current crossword puzzle. Francie was passionate about connecting with her extended family and her proudest accomplishment was the completion (to date) of both the Wade and Gailey family photo albums, dating back from well over 150 years. Her home and heart were open to all and she was "Mom" or "Mother" to countless of her children's friends. Visitation will be in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 25. A celebration of her life will take place in St. Peter's Anglican Church, 10030 Peggy's Cove Rd., Hackett's Cove on Friday at 2 p.m., with reception to follow. Details of a memorial service and burial in Penniac, N.B., arranged for Mothers' Day, May 13, will be available later. On-line condolences may be sent to: www.rawalker.ca. Donations, in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated to Aphasia Centre of Ottawa, 153 Chapel St., Ottawa, ON K1N 1H5.
