McDONALD, Ronald Milton - 80, of Tantallon passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Milton and Lillian (Dorey) McDonald. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Olive Mae (Hutt); daughters, Wendy (Wayne) Calnen, Hammonds Plains; Kathy (Danny) Earl, Glen Haven; sons, Ron Jr. and Rick, both of Tantallon; Robyn (April), Oklahoma City; brother, George (Gisela), British Columbia. He leaves behind his dearly loved grandchildren, Scott (Paula), Blair (Melissa), Christie Calnen, Jacob Earl, Jill, Ben, Neil, Karli McDonald. Before retiring, Ronnie was employed with Canada Post. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 4, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. LOGAN, Genevieve Evelyn "Jenny" - 72, Tantallon. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Genevieve after a courageous battle with cancer, in QEII Heath Sciences Centre, Halifax, on January 6, 2008. Born in Hackett's Cove, and known to many as "Jenny" she was a daughter of the late James and Minnie (Ernest) Hubley. Genevieve, lifelong resident of St. Margaret's Bay, was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be sorrowfully missed. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Logan, Glen Haven; Annette (Ernest Hubley), Seabright; grandchildren, Gary Logan, Erika and Angela Greenough; sisters, Florence (Junior) Herritt, Aylesford; Judy (Michael) Morash, Peggy's Cove; Carol Ann (Mark) Swider, Dartmouth; brothers, Gordon (Joy), Glen Haven; James (Betty), French Village; Freddie (Nancy), Glen Margaret. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, James; and her childhood sister, Eleanor. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, with funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, both in Ronald A. HUTT, Joan Frances - 78, Upper Tantallon, passed away January 9, 2008, in Maple Stone Enhanced Care. She was a daughter of the late Guy and Mercedes (Barber) Dauphinee. She was a former employee of the Halifax Herald, and enjoyed bowling, basketball and curling at the Dartmouth Curling Club. She is survived by her husband, Keith; son, Dana; granddaughter, Madelyn; sisters, Margaret Dauphinee, Madelyn Welton, Nancy (Innes) Boutilier; brothers, David, Riverview, N.B.; Graham (Marilyn), Halifax; John, Richmond, B.C., and Ken, Taipei, Taiwan. She was predeceased by sons, Gary, Martin and Dale, and brother, Robert Dauphinee. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, in St. Margaret's Anglican Church, Tantallon, Rev. ROBERGE, Reginald G. (Reg) (Nile),
62, of Hammonds Plains, NS, best friend and husband of Sharon (Adams) Roberge
moved to his new home in heaven on January 10th, 2008 from the Victoria General
Hospital, Halifax. Born at Grand Falls, NB, in 1945, he was a son of Lorraine (Laforge)
and the late George Roberge.
Besides his wife and his mother, he is survived by sisters: Raymonde Picard of
Whitby, Ontario, Claudette (John) Roy of Kingston, Ontario, Reinelde (Gaston)
Theriault of Edmundston, NB and Guillemette (Valmond) Morin of Grand Falls, NB;
brother: Cyr (Doreen) Roberge of Grand Falls, NB; mother-in-law: Reta Adams of
New Denmark, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
his father and brother, Robert, father-in-law, Wilbert Adams.
Resting at OíReganís Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls, with
visiting hours Wednesday January 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. A celebration of his life
will be celebrated from the Saint-Georges Church, Grand Falls on Wednesday at 4
p.m. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Denmark. Donations to SPCA
or a charity of the donorís choice would be appreciated. He will be Missed
Forever and Always Remembered.
MACAULAY (Misner), Rose Marie - Meisners Point Road, Ingramport, passed away Friday, January 11, 2008, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Rose lived all her life on Meisners Point Road. She was a granddaughter of the late Maynard and Victoria May Misner; daughter of the late Lorne Misner and the late Ruth (Fleet) Misner Reeves; stepdaughter of the late Clifford Reeves. Surviving are her loving husband, Ronald Macaulay, her best friend and loving partner for 37 years. Rose, Ronnie and Fancy were always together. She is also survived by daughter, Darlene (Christopher) Boutilier, Tantallon; beautiful loving grandchildren, Ashley Baker Morash, Alysia Morash, and chosen grandson, Julian Pearson; brother, Keith Misner, Black Point; cousin, Errol Meisner, who she loved like a brother; adopted sister, Wanita (Roberto) Sani and baby Eric, Alberta; many sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends; favorite aunts, Madeline (Sandy) Boutilier, Frances (Marshall) Bush, Bush Island, LaHave; childhood and dearly loved friend, Edwin Manuel, Whitehorse; Rose's great friend, George Backman, who always helped her out and took the time to talk to her and give her hope and got Rose things she wanted. Rose worked many years as a master hairdresser. More than anything in her life, she loved babies and children. Looking after children was her calling in life. The first child she baby-sat was her loving godson, David Coolen Jr. Rose was an animal and nature lover, she had dogs, rabbits and cages of birds. She was a bird watcher. Rose will be missed by her baby dog Shih Tzu, Fancy. Fancy went everywhere with Ronnie and Rose. Fancy was always by her side. Rose's hobbies were cooking, baking and decorating, tole painting, reading, and gardening, she had beautiful flower gardens, and loved Elvis music, old country music, and wooden ships. Rose loved her time with her grandchildren and enjoyed movies with the girls, talking on the phone, family get- togethers at her daughter's, her good home cooking fun, breakfast at the Outback, and Sundays with Ronnie, friends and neighbours. Rose loved all her friends and neighbours on Meisners Point Road. She had great friends; Robyn, Audrey, Sharon, Linda, Heather, Betty, Gloria, Coralea and many more. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Born in Lamaline, N.L., he was a son of the late Lewis and Mary (Walsh) Crews. Clyde was a resident of Boutilier's Point for over 63 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 118, a past patron of Mystic Star No. 40, and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 116. Lester was a longshoreman and a member of Local 269 for 40 years and retired in 1982. He is survived by his sister, Nora (Percy) Bezanson, Blandford; extended family, Peter (Judy) Harnish, Lorraine Langille, Odess (Carol), Winfield (Sandra), Sally, all of Mill Cove; Elinor (Lem), Bedford; Rusty (Lois), Ontario; Valerie (Errol), Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his companion, Wilma Harnish; brothers, Leaman, Percy, Bernard; sisters, Helen, Wilma, Winnie, and one member of his extended family, Sharon. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Sally (Ternofsky) ; son, Jason (Jessica), Winnipeg; stepson, Richard (Krista) Markwart, Saskatoon; stepdaughter, Sherry (Rob) Olauson, Saskatoon; brothers, Mike (Suzette), Spencer and Kevin (Cathy), all of Hubbards; sisters, Debbie McArthur (Edd), Brandon; Paula Westhaver (Richard), Mahone Bay; stepgrandchildren, Jarret, Dylan, and Alexa; maternal grandmother, Erma Armsworthy, Spryfield; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
