HARNISH, Paul Leslie - 66, Mill Cove, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Mill Cove, he was a son of the late Creighton and Margaret (D'Heart) Harnish. He is survived by brothers, Melvin, Marcus, sisters, Edna Harnish, Brenda Coolen, Patsy Harnish, all of Mill Cove; number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George, Eric, and Ronnie; sisters, Thelma and Sandra. Visitation Tuesday 7-9 p.m., funeral service Wednesday at 11 a.m., both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards, Rev. Jim Greene, officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church

BLINN, Alice Mary
BLINN, Alice Mary - 90, Halifax, formerly of Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Plympton, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Melanson) Comeau. Alice was a teacher, graduating from Provincial Normal College in Truro with honors. She taught in Digby, Annapolis and Halifax counties. She won the Centennial Medal for teaching. She was active in the Nova Scotia Teacher's Union Local of Halifax County, in many of the church associations including the C.W.L., Catholic Council and Liturgy committee, and home schooling. She
was well-known for her talents in crocheting and knitting which she shared with family and friends. Alice was predeceased by her husband, William; sisters, Lavina, Mamie, Annie, and Marjorie; two brothers and two sisters in infancy. She leaves to mourn her children, Edgar (Thelma), Lunenburg; Harold (Joan), Bedford, and Marjorie (Oliver) Harnish, Stillwater Lake; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, James Comeau. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd. (Hwy. 333). Funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St.

HAWKES (Boyle, Richard, Arsenault), Mary Florence - Timberlea, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Norton, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Anne Richard. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, as well as a member of the seniors club at Timberlea Manor. She will be fondly remembered by many of the patrons at the Leghorn Bar-B-Q, and as well the Hi Lo's in Hubley. Survived by sons, Ernest (Annette) Arsenault, Grande-Digue, N.B.; David (Susan) Hawkes, Timberlea; daughters, Doris Landry (the late Albert), Shediac River, N.B.; Rena LeClair (the late
Leonard), Dieppe, N.B.; Martina Davis (Paul), Lake of The Woods; Eunice Devanney (Robert), Seabright; Linda Brown (George), Tantallon; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Glorice Arsenault; second husband, John Hawkes; daughter, Patsy; grandsons, Robbie Devanney, Chris Davis and Ricky Arsenault; a number of brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lakeside, Father Jim Richards officiating. Interment to be held at

Surviving are daughter, Debra Stephens (Kevin Farnell), Queensland; brothers, Jack, Bridgewater; Eric, Ontario; sisters, Vivian, British Columbia; Lucille Dunning, Ontario; Norma Taylor, Halifax; grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Emma-Lee; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Caitlin. She was predeceased by her husband, John Latremouille; companion, David Campbell; sons, John and David; brothers, Cameron and

JOLLIMORE, John Clarence - 50, Tantallon, passed way Monday, July 19, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of William and Geraldine (Irving) Jollimore, Tantallon. John was a self-employed painter and operated under the name "Gotcha Covered" He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. Surviving besides his parents are sons, Devin (Melinda), Bedford; John, Tantallon; brother, William (Irene) Hackett's Cove; grandchildren, Paige and Logan; nephew, Shane, and his companion, Elaine LePorque, Antigonish. SCHOFIELD, Florence Mary - 79, Mason's Point, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, following a long illness. Born in Rose Blanche, NL, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Ada M. (Chafe) Ewing. Florence spent her early years in Corner Brook, NL, where she attended St. Henry's School. Upon graduation, she entered nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal, Que. She worked in her chosen profession in Corner Brook, where she will be remembered as Dr. T.T. Monaghan's competent office nurse. After leaving Corner Brook, Florence was employed as a nurse in Boston, Mass.,
and Halifax. She retired in 1987 from Canadian Forces Hospital, Stadacona where she worked for many years as head nurse, in the recovery room. She is survived by her brother, Lance (Tess), Westbank, B.C.; sister, Mary (Frank) Daigle, Boise, Idaho; brother in-law, Harold Woodman, Grand Falls, NL. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by parents, Ernest and Ada Ewing; husband, Lionel; sister, Catherine Woodman. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony 's Roman Catholic Church, Hubbards, Father Paul Morris, officiating. Burial in

RICHARDSON, Douglas Abner - 71, Northwest Cove, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004. Born in Indian Harbour, he was a son of the late George and Ruth (Bauckman) Richardson. Doug was self-employed fisherman for many years and also worked as a foreman with Atlantic Sea products in Hubbards and Sambro. Doug dearly loved music and always shared his talents with friends and neighbours. He was always active participant in many of the local fundraiser. He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Coolen; brother, Wesley (Helen), Hackett's Cove; sister, Lillian Billard, Indian Harbour; numerous nieces and nephews.

LITTLE (Horne), Sandra Elizabeth "Sandy" - 63, Stillwater Lake, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born on April 6, 1941, in Halifax, Sandy was the daughter of Sophie (Boudreau) Horne, Halifax, and the late Gerald Horne. Raised and educated in Halifax she attended Saint Mary's Girls School, Sacred Heart Convent, and St. Patrick's High before beginning her secretarial career, spending several years employed at MSI and Central Trust. Besides her mother, Sandy is survived by her husband, Jon; son, Douglas (Tracy) Gilbert, Stillwater Lake; daughter, Janis Patrick, Stillwater Lake;
grandsons, Donald and Richard; sister, Janis (Gerald) George and brother, Arthur (Dianne); several nieces and nephews. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. Funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, Peggy's Cove Road, Glen Margaret, Father Jim Richards officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
