BRIGLEY, Joseph George - 62, Halifax, formerly of Queensland, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Joseph G. and Margaret E. (White) Brigley. Joe retired from CFS Mill Cove. He was an avid crib player, enjoyed sport fishing and bowling and was a former member of the St. Margaret's Bay Radio CB Club. He is survived by his companion, Doreen Caravan; sons, Michael (Christine), Glace Bay; Vincent, Spryfield; Eddy, Ontario; daughters, Mary, Spryfield; Belinda (Keith), Spryfield; Kelly (Jay) Wilson, Ontario; sisters, Mary (Larry) Phillips, Tantallon; Judy (Ron), Tidgwell, Ont.; Fay Baker, Chester; Edith (Bob), Linthorne, B.C; brothers, Billy (Debbie), Bayswater; David (Cathy), Sackville; Paul (Sherry), Queensland; 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Margaret Annette O'Brien; sister, Margaret. The family will receive visitors 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Hubbards, Rev. Paul Morris officiating. Burial to follow in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Sims Settlement. FADER, Doris Marguerite - 78, Boutilier's Point, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late William Higgins and Gladys (Kennedy) MacDonald. Surviving are her husband, Douglas; sons, Christopher (Cheryl), Hampton, N.B.; Garth (Shirley), Simms Settlement; Lamont (Cathy), Ingramport; daughter, Terry Ann (Michael) Morash, Boutilier's Point; brothers, Edward (Ted) Higgins, Boutilier's Point; half-brothers, John Higgins, Stewiacke; Tom Higgins, Black Point; James Higgins, Cowie Hill; half-sisters, Bernice Higgins, Halifax; Mauretta Higgins, Halifax; grandchildren, Angie, Sandra (Johnston), Courtney, Kyle, Justin, Amanda, Paulette, Matthew, Mark; great-grandchildren, Blake, Alex, Yolanda, Kera Leigh. FLOYD, Eleanor Francis - 82, Halifax, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, in Northwood Care Inc., Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Ferguson) Harrop. Eleanor will be remembered always for her sense of humor and her love for family and friends. She was an avid swimmer, where she was often seen swimming in St. Margaret's Bay. Eleanor took great pride in her flower garden and while she was a resident of Northwood she spent many hours visiting and supporting the other residents. She is survived by sons, Douglas (Carol), Queensland; Eric (Annette), Boutilier's Point; grandson, Michael, Halifax; sister, Gwen (Basil) Josey, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm; son, Alan; grandson, Mark; brother, Edgar. The family will receive visitors 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Ronald A. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., he was a son of the late William and Mabel (MacGregor) Gillespie. He is survived by his sons, Don (Paulette), Hammonds Plains; Bill (Karen), Sackville; Gary, Vancouver; daughters, Wendy, Clayton Park; Laura, Australia; sister, Margery, Charlottetown; grandchildren, Ali, Layton, Logan, Sam, Lee. He was predeceased by his brother, David. A family committal service will be held in Charlottetown. DOREY (Smith), A. Louise
DOREY (Smith), A. Louise - 74, Hubbards, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, July 25, 2003. Born in Halifax, she was the only daughter of the late William and A. Grace (Knox) Smith. Louise attended Tower Road School and Halifax Ladies College where she attained weaving, pottery, woodworking and leatherwork accreditations. Louise was an avid fly-fisher woman and had caught many a trout and salmon in her travels back to the lakes and rivers. She enjoyed a good game of golf, also curling, and loved her flowers and birds (especially humming birds). She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Tom; son, Kirk (Rosie), Sackville; daughter, Tamar Dorey, Hubbards; grandchildren; William and Meredith Dorey, Amber and Cody Fryday. There will be no visitation by request. Committal service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, July 27, for family and close friends, in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards. WESTHAVER, Brian Dwight - 48, Fox Point, Lunenburg Co., passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Fox Point, he was a son of the late George and "Marie" Ruth Rosamond (DeWolfe) Westhaver. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy L. Boutilier; son, Dwight, at home; daughters, Wendy, Newfoundland; Ruth Ann, Rachael, both at home; granddaughter, Star; brother, Charles Sweeny, Bridgewater; sisters, Lynn Publicover, Blandford; Prem McKelvie, Halifax. He was predeceased by brothers, Reid and Clarence; sister, Maxine. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Randy Townsend officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point.
