MORASH, Darlene Joy - It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of their dear mother, Darlene Joy Morash, age 52, on July 6, 2006. She was constantly surrounded with an abundance of love from her large family and friends. Darlene's strong faith carried her through a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 25, 1953, Darlene was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Odessa A. (Boutilier) Hick (Hackett's Cove). She is survived by her sons, Shane C. (Lynn), Joel Michael; daughters, Shawna Lea, Tina Marie (Robert Owens); grandsons, Owen and Jonathan; brothers, Carlyle (Gloria) Hick, Robert (Doreen) Hick; sisters, Elizabeth Morash, Lorraine Green, Odessa Southern, Denise Hick; many nieces and nephews; close family friend, Laura Stevens, and Darlene's companion, Mike Stevens, who will deeply miss his "Hunny Bun". Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, all in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. KANE, Katherine M. "Kaye" - 68, East River, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Sackville, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Jack and Frances Nedva. Kaye worked for many years at CFS Mill Cove. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth J.; sons, Brent M. Sallans, Halifax; Gary B. Sallans, Dartmouth; Aaron B. Young, Halifax; daughters, Lynn Sallans, Hubbards; Breena Stuthard, Sackville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. LOHNES, Sandra Lillian - 59, Seabright, died July 10, 2006, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax she was the only daughter of the late Harold W. and Lillian "Molly" (Lynch) Spicer. Sandra is survived by son, David, British Columbia; brothers, David (Margie), Whynachts Point; Clyde (Maureen), Seabright; grandchildren, Terri-Lynn Laybolt, Cory Lohnes, Devon Gelera; nephew, Stephen Spicer, Ontario, and niece, Susan Spicer, Tantallon. She will be missed by very good friends, Fred Gates, Dianne Baker, Susan and Mike Rowan. Many thanks to Northwood Homecare and the VON for their care and support over a very long period of time. Our thanks to Seabright Volunteer Fire Department - Rescue Unit, who had made more than a few emergency calls to Sandra. Gratitude is expressed to Dr. Seetharamdoo, Sackville, who gave so much care and time to Sandra as a friend and patient. The staff of the Guardian Drug Store, Head of St. Margaret's Bay Road, never failed Sandra or her family in providing that so often needed "special touch" service. To Dr. Sheppard and the nurses of the 4th floor, Intensive Care Unit, Dartmouth General Hospital, the family deeply appreciates their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. Committal service to be held at a later date in Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. MEISNER, David Franklyn - 58, Halifax, passed away July 11, 2006, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Blandford, he was the son of the late James F. and Iona (Boutilier) Meisner. David worked for over 35 years with DND. He was a member of the IOOF Manchester Unity Lodge since 1964 and was also a team manager in the Halifax Men's District Dart League for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Lorraine Margaret Gamble; sons, Ronnie (Colleen), East River; Carl L., Halifax; brother, Eric (Debbie); nephew, Charles; niece, Deanna, Timberlea. Visitation will be held Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m., both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Dan Green officiating. HARTLEN, Albert Allen - 98, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away July 13, 2006, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Welsford "Babe" and Pearl (Mason) Hartlen (Mason's Point). Albert was a veteran and served with the No. 2 Platoon No. 1 Coy at Petawawa, Ont. He was a member of St. Margaret's Bay Baptist Church for 70 years. He was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Evelyn Boutilier; sister, Nellie Westhaver, Mason's Point. He was predeceased by sisters, Hazel, Gladys, Irene, Pearl "Polly", Ella, Ina, Ida, Helen; brothers, Clifford, Leslie and Nelson. LANGILLE, Joan Laphamn - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear, caring mother, Joan Laphamn Langille, 80, on Thursday, July 20, 2006, in Northwood Care, Halifax, formerly of Mason's Point. Born in Head of St. Margaret's Bay, she was a daughter of the late William and Ruby (Fader) Fader. She is survived by son, Charles (Lorraine), Cheverie; daughter, Jessie (Paul) Mason, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; brother, Douglas, Boutilier's Point; sister, Madeline Lambert, Halifax; grandsons, Mark Mason and Adam Langille; stepgrandchildren, Marcus, Bruce, and Rosalyn; two great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent; sisters, Marie Haverstock, Opal Christie, Pauline Ransome, Connie Bottomley, and Dorothy; brothers, Kirk, Bordon, and William. She was a very dedicated and devoted wife and mother. Following the Fader tradition, she was a great cook which was shared in her kindness graciously with all. SEABOYER, Dorothy Ruth - 84, Queensland, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Queensland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Seeilger) Kennedy. Dorothy will be remembered as loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pleasure in baking, cooking and knitting. She was an avid bingo player and always looked forward to looking after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm; son, Don (Margy), Queensland; grandsons, Mark (Susan), Kevin (Anne Marie), Kirk (Marjorie), Paul (Shannon); granddaughter, Cindy (Andy); eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion (Arthur) Osgood, Halifax; Jeanette McKendry, Victoria, B.C.; nephews, Brian, Halifax; David, Victoria, B.C.; niece, Diane, Halifax. CLARKE, William Michael "Bill" Sr. - 71, Hubbards, passed away in the VG Site, QEII, on July 28, 2006. Born in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ont., he was the son of Santa Clarke (currently 103 years of age) and the late William Clarke. A man of the sea, Bill served in the Canadian Navy from 1950-1965. He served in the Tracker Squadron VU33 at Comox, B.C., and served three tours with Squadron VS880 in Comox/Shearwater on the aircraft carriers Magnificent and Bonaventure. Bill also served as Instructor, C.P.O., and Air Crew Division. He was well respected by students he taught. After leaving the navy, he pursued his career as a business owner and operator of Trans World Distributing Ltd. of Dartmouth, founded in 1967. He was president until his recent passing. Bill was a man who loved his work and could be seen at the business on a daily basis. When not working, he could be observed boating on St. Margaretís Bay in his favoured Chris Craft power boat. Bill is survived by daughter, Sylvia Clarke-Greenough, Nanaimo, B.C.; son, William Michael Clarke Jr. and wife Barb Renouf Clarke, Upper Vaughan; grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Kathryn (Katie), Christian, and Ian. Bill is also survived by his brother, Joseph Thomas Clarke, Halifax, and sister, Mary Grace Pooler, Ottawa, Ont. He was predeceased by his daughter, Colleen Margaret Clarke, Dartmouth. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all staff attending to Billís needs on floor 5B at the VG. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, St. Anthonyís Catholic Church, Hubbards.
