DAUPHINEE, Sgt. Rodger Carmen (CD2 Ret'd)- 1948 - 2009, of Hubbards/Florida, passed away July 1, 2009, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. He was a son of the late Carl and Margaret Dauphinee. Rodger served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years, joining at the tender age of 17 and retiring in 2003. Rodger was well-known for his love of cars, over the years he purchased, restored and sold too many to count. He is survived by his wife/friend, Shelia (King) of 14 years; daughter, Andrea and much loved granddaughter, Sadie, Prince Edward Island; sister, Marlene Terry, Dartmouth; brothers, Lloyd (Bettyanne), Dartmouth; Wayne (Allana) and Wilfred (Mary), both of Hubbards; in-laws, John W. and Ethel King, Newfoundland & Labrador, and sister-in-law, Waniece (Les) Underwood, England and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 4, in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. Family flowers only. ESTABROOKS, Carolyn - 60, passed away suddenly at home in Upper Tantallon on July 3rd, 2009. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Jack Cameron and Lorna Moore. Carolyn is survived by husband, Bill; daughters, Trisha (Graeme) and Jana; granddaughter, Ella and brother, John Cameron. Carolyn loved her time at the cottage in Brackley Beach and those great Prince Edward Island sunsets. Carolyn was her husband's best friend and closest advisor in all affairs, personal and political. Her newest love was her granddaughter Ella. Cremation has taken place. A family celebration of Carolyn's life will take place later this summer in Prince Edward Island. Special thanks to the paramedics, firefighters and RCMP for their support at this difficult time. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the St. Margaret's Bay Lions Club. CORNEY, Madeline Carrie - 86, West Dover, passed away Monday July 6, 2009, at home. Born in West Dover, she was the daughter of the late Almon and Florence (Morash) Morash. Madeline retired from the Grace Maternity Hospital following 25 years of dedicated service. Madeline's passion was her family, family dinners and gatherings, to playing cards and bingo all shared with laughter. Madeline treasured spending time with her great- grandson Cameron. She is survived by her children, Earl (Barb), Ruth (Gerald) Allen, Lloyd (Anne), Beulah (Harold "Bud") Slaunwhite, Ann (David) Harrie, Audrey (Rick) Slaunwhite, Larry (Karen), Beverly (Brice) Morash; 18 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; brothers, Reginald and Edgar. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m .Wednesday July 8 with funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday July 9, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, West Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church, West Dover. The family would like to extend special thanks to son Lloyd and daughter-in-law Anne who provided loving care to our dear mother from May 26 to the morning of her passing. McCREARY, Bradley Joseph "Brad" - It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away at the age of 33, Thursday July 16, 2009. Brad was a gentle soul with a huge heart and boundless compassion for animals. Surviving are parents, Ron (Mae) McCreary; Sandra (Doug) Poulton; sister, Sue (Dave) Salmon; brother, Dave (Jennifer) McCreary; nieces, Nikki (Will) Salmon; Missy and Mary Ann McCreary; nephews, Chris (Andrea) Salmon; Zach, Alex and Josh McCreary; several, aunts, uncles and cousins; deeply loved by Brad's family and friends in Hubbards, Halifax, Ontario and Florida. YOUNG, Joy Shelia - 75, West Dover, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Fox Point, she was a daughter of the late William Peach and Lila G. (Coolen) Young. She is survived by sons, William (Ann), Dartmouth; Thomas Allen, West Dover; Paul (Sharon Digon), Halifax; daughter, Lila, Pugwash; brother, Marshall (Nell), Dearborn, Mich.; sister, Isabelle (Earl) Evan, Tennessee, USA; sister-in-law, Fay, Halifax; grandchildren, Sabrina and Samantha; great- grandchildren, Alicia and Logan; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Joy was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; son, Samuel; brothers, Cyril and William "Willie". She enjoyed flower arranging and her flower garden. She had a great love of baking and collected recipes and cookbooks. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, in Tantallon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 12494 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Pastor Pedro Graca officiating. HADDAD, Joseph Allen Paul "Joe"- 59, of Tantallon, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in QEII Health Sciences Centre,Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Peter and Elsie (Smith) Haddad. Joe will be remembered for his kindness, compassion and the love he had for his family. He worked for Halterm for over 25 years as a longshoreman at the Halifax Waterfront where he made many friends. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed a good game of pool and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Shawn (Webber); son, Randy (Amy Murphy), Tantallon; daughter, Shellie (Jeff Brine), Stephenville, N.L.; brother, John P. (Fran), Fredericton, N.B.; sister, Veronica Ryan, Tantallon; Leona Schennery, Sackville; Helena (Donnie) West, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Colton and Caelan Feeney, Newfoundland; Kaden and Kiley Haddad, Tantallon; 13 nieces and nine nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Marilyn and Rosemary. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 31st, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon.
