CAMPBELL, John Brown II - 94, Peggyís Cove and Windsor, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Clarksville he was a son of the late Frederick and Henrietta (Wilson) Campbell. John moved to Windsor at a young age and attended school in Clarksville, Windsor and Acadia University, Wolfville. He was involved most of his life in the family business, J.B. Campell and Sons, Curryís Corner. He also served as the postmaster at Curryís Corner for many years. He was an elder at St. Johns United Church, served on the Windsor Town Council and served as a volunteer fire fighter, and was a member of the Welsford Masonic Lodge, Windsor. John moved to Peggyís Cove on retirement but maintained his ties to Windsor . He attended St. Johnís Anglican Church in Peggyís Cove. He is survived by his sons, Jack (Judy), Peggyís Cove; Gary, Dartmouth; Robert (Susan), Windsor; daughters, Beverley Oulton, Halifax; Janice (Terry) Woollam, St. Margaretís Bay; sisters, Lillian MacMillian, Halifax; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret (Earl) Curry, Shubenacadie. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Curry); sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Frank Archibald); Ethel, Ella (Mrs. Percy Kennedy); Ruth; brother, Norman (Greta); brother-in-law, Dr. Duncan MacMillan; granddaughter, Elizabeth, and son-in-law, Keith Oulton. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in St. Johnís Anglican Church, Peggyís Cove, Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Maple Wood Cemetery, Windsor. MATHERS, Evatt Robert - 60, Mill Cove, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, on highway 103 near Tantallon, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Halifax, he was the beloved son of Jean (MacDonald) Mathers and the late Evatt Robert Mathers Sr. Evatt was a master carpenter, loving father, son, brother and a dear friend to many. He loved telling stories, teasing and a good practical joke. Evatt's wonderful sense of humour will always be remembered. He loved to spend his time sitting on his deck, watching the ocean while enjoying a cigarette in his beloved Mill Cove. He will be greatly missed by all. Survived by his wife, Wilma Raaymaker; daughter, Jenny (Gary), Dartmouth; son, Riley, Mill Cove; grandson, Rory, Dartmouth; sisters, Lynn Connor, Boutilier's Point; Marlene (Ray) Dube, Timberlea; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. MATHERS, Liam Rory - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear, sweet Liam, who passed away suddenly Sunday, June 8, 2008, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Halifax on December 4, 1996, he was the son of Wilma J. Raaymakers, Hubbards, and the late Evatt R. Mathers. He was a bright light that touched so many lives. His mischievous smile, incredible imagination and love for life will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was wise beyond his years and even at the tender age of 11 showed compassionate love for his family and friends. Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother, Riley Lamarche, Mill Cove; sister, Jennifer (Gary Sisson) Mathers, Dartmouth; nephew, Rory Sisson, Dartmouth; maternal grandmother, Anna Raaymakers, Wolfville; paternal grandmother, Jean Rita Mathers, Halifax; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, William Raaymakers; paternal grandfather, Evatt Robert Mathers Sr., and his cousin, Boyd Chisholm. RICHARDSON, Eleanor Kathleen - 75, Indian Harbour, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, in Melville Lodge Nursing Home. Born in Hackett's Cove, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Hazel (Richardson) Covey. Eleanor was a stay-at-home mom most of her life to her husband and four children. She was the last founding member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church Women at St. Andrews Church for which she wasrecognized in 2005, and she was the treasurer for many years. She worked at the Peggy's Cove Gift Shop for 25 years. She was an active participant in the East St. Margaret's Home and School Association and the Women's Auxiliary of the Seabright Legion Branch 116. She also knit hats and mitts for IWK Guardian Angels. Eleanor liked to garden, take walks with her grandchildren, knit, sew, crochet; she was always busy. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Colin; daughters, Linda Strachan, Timberlea; Joan (Douglas) Johnson, Indian Harbour; Beverly (Albert) Richardson; son, Glenn (Wendy Kirby); brother, Walter (June) Covey, all of Hackett's Cove; grandchildren, Craig (Lisa) Johnson, Stacy (Brent) Keeping, both of Indian Harbour; Troy (Barbie) Johnson, British Columbia; Mark Richardson, Timberlea; Bradley and Amanda Richardson, Hackett's Cove; great- grandchildren, Jenna Johnson, Indian Harbour, and Brooklyn Johnson, British Columbia; many nieces and nephews, to some she was like a mom. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wilfred and Rufus Covey; sisters, Muriel Christie, Marjorie Howatt; son-in-law, David Strachan. POTTIE, Henry Joseph - 60, Indian Harbour passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Frederick A. (Kathleen), Indian Harbour, and late Muriel Mary (Lund) Pottie. Henry worked for many years in Prince Rupert in the Lumber Mill and returned home to his love of fishing. He is survived by his son, Henry, Indian Harbour; daughter, Heather, Ottawa; sister, Carol, Hammonds Plains. He was predeceased by his brother, Ivan. PEARSON, Cecelia Rose - 88, Chester, formerly of Tantallon, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008, in Shoreham Village Nursing Home, Chester. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Letitea (Stevens) Coughran. Rose will be fondly remembered by her family and her many friends for her kindness, generosity and her loving gentle spirit. She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Coralee), Ingramport; Robert "Bobby", Sackville; Ralph (Dorothy), Simms Settlement; brothers, Ralph, Whites Lake; Walter, Sackville; sister, Joan White, Halifax; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. O'TOOLE, Terrence Patrick - 59, Lakeside passed away Sunday June 22, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born August 25, 1948, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Douglas and Marguerite (Hyland) O'Toole. Terry began his working career with Sobey's stores, later joining the RCN, serving as an administrative writer in the Stadacona Transportation Department and on HCMS Kootenay; upon leaving the navy, Terrence worked for Dominion Stores Warehouse as an inventory co-ordinator. Terry, who is sadly missed and much-loved, is survived by brothers, John (Barbara), Hammonds Plains; Douglas (Ethel), Tantallon; Patrick, Lakeside; sisters, Rosalie (Jerome) Tufts, Lakeside; Colleen Bowdridge, Spryfield; nine nieces and 16 nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Roy Bowdridge; nephews, Timothy Bowdridge and Christopher Tufts. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in Ronald A. REID, Gregory William - 73, Hubbards, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, in St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Dominion, Cape Breton, Greg was a son of the late William (Scotland) and Anastasia (Browner) Reid (Dominion). Greg's seven grandchildren will remember him fondly as Gramps. He worked in the carpentry trade and heavy marine structures industry. He is survived by sons, John Hugh (Shelley) and Trevor William (Jeannie), both of Dartmouth; daughter, Gail (Jamie) Dominey, Fox Point; brothers, Connie (Vera), Thomas (Trudy), Hugh (Eleanor); sisters, Anne, Anita, Claire, Charlotte; grandchildren, Sarah, Simon, Tova, Matthew, Maxwell, Shelby, and Cassie. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Teresa, and his long-time partner, Patricia Robinson. Ada was an active member of her community; canvassed for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and a faithful lifelong member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church Tantallon. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and traveling with the White Cap Seniors.
