MacGillivary, John Alexander- 64, of Bayswater passed away Wednesday June 16, 2010 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Middleton he was the son of the late Edward and Vera (Ernst) MacGillivary. John was the last surviving male member of his immediate family. John grew up in Forest Glade and was educated in Forestry at the University of New Brunswick. He retired from Metro Transit with 25 years’ service and the last few years he drove the fish truck for Deep Cove Aqua Farms. John was also an active member of the Blandford Community Center and All Saints Anglican Church where he was a reader for many years. Surviving by his loving spouse of 18 years, Genevieve Julian, Bayswater; sisters, Ellen Simpson, Middleton; Rae (Ron) Ferh, Chilliwack, B.C.; 3 nephew and 3 nieces. Funeral services are entrusted to the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. A committal service will be held at a later date in the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Bayswater. JOHNSON, Paul Ralton - 64, Indian Harbour, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax on August 2, 1945, he was a son of the late Ralton and Beulah Johnson (Indian Harbour). Paul was employed by the Federal Government for 28 years, also the R.C.M.P, the Dockyard, Stadacona and Dalhousie University, all in the maintenance department. Paul was also a part-time fisherman. He started fishing in his youth with his father and grandfather and then continued on his own. His love and passion was always to be on the waters of St. Margaret's Bay where he grew up. Paul also enjoyed hunting with his cousin Robert, and his son Garth. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Legere); son, Garth; brother, Philip; sister, Nancy; grandchildren, Kyla Faith, Kimberley, Jonathon Carroll; nephew, Peter Arron. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Dinetia (Johnson) Carroll. Paul was a devoted and loving son, husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Monday June 28, and 4-7 p.m. Tuesday June 29 with funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday June 30, all in Ronald A. CREWS, Edith - 87, Boutilier's Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Taylors Bay, N.L. she was the eldest child of 12 born to the late William and Catherine (Hillier) Bonnell. Edith was a resident of Boutilier's Point for 65 years. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, the Eastern Star and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Legion No. 116. Edith is survived by her family of sons and daughters, Clyde, Lew (Lynn), Roy (Susan), June (Stuart) Hughes, Kathleen Profit, all of Boutiliers Point; Claude (Dale), Queensland; Ray (Bonnie), Tantallon; Glenn (Elaine), Enfield; Ricci (Wendy), Lacombe, Alta.; David (Bonita), Hall Beach, Nunuvut; Kay (Doug) Vaughn, Saskatoon; Karen (Tom) Scully, Riverview, N.B.; Vera (Ed) Hassett, Clayton, Ont.; Molly (Don) Hume, Edmonton; 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren gave Mom and Dad great joy; brothers and sisters, Ina Hillier, Verena Dunn, Bill Bonnell and Freeman Bonnell of Toronto, Ont.; Stan Bonnell, Calgary; Emma Smith, Carbonear, N.L.; Elsie Coleman, Isle Aux Mort, N.L. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde, in 2008; and brothers, Fred, Gerald, John and Clyde. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today in the Ronald A. REDMOND, Grace Winnifred - 98, formerly of Seabright, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2010, in Maplestone Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Halifax on June 29, 1912, she was a daughter of the late James and Alfreda (Collins) MacDonald. Grace was a survivor of the Halifax Explosion and was the last surviving member of her family. Grace enjoyed knitting, baking and cooking for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Wilbert) Kaiser, Tantallon; sons, Douglas (Rose Mason), Tantallon; Frank (Marsella Berringer), Bridgetown/Seabright; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; daughter, Shelia Mae, in infancy; brothers, Ralph, Bill and Gordon Roy; sisters, May, Freda, Geraldine and Pearl. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3 in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Burial to follow in Umlah Cemetery, Seabright. Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Family flowers only.
