MORASH, Everett- 71, of West Dover, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Glades Lodge, Halifax. Born in West Dover, he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Frances E. (MacKinnon) Morash. Survived by daughters, Barbara (Guy) Kendall, Tantallon; Rosa (Rob Ballard) Morash, Seabright; stepdaughter, Deanna Murphy, Indian Harbour; brother, Phillip, Terence Bay; sisters, Audrey, Gwen, both of West Dover; Joyce, Whites Lake; aunt, Pearl "Minnie" Fralick, Glen Margaret; grandchildren, Travis Kendall, Cecilia and Charles Murphy. Predeceased by his wife, Vola; daughter, Aletta; brothers, Seaton, Foster, Marshall; sisters, Mable and Estella. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. PAQUIN (Chew), Dorothy Kathleen - 80, Bayswater, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater; she is beginning a new chapter in eternity after a brave battle with cancer. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Wilfred Chew and Florence Stott. She was born in Toronto but lived most of her very full life in Quebec with the last seven years in Bayswater. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Doria "Doe" Paquin and by their youngest daughter, Susan Leslie. Daughter Debra Paquin will dearly miss her lovely mother but will take comfort in so many wonderful memories. Dorothy also leaves granddaughter, Megan Leslie (Matt Smart); son-in-law, Allan Leslie, and many friends in Nova Scotia and Quebec. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and willingness to share her considerable needlework talents in appliqué quilting and unique penny rugs. She was a member of Chester United Baptist Church and many other community groups. Sincere thanks to everyone who cared for Dorothy on this journey. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 12th, at 2 p.m. in Chester United Baptist Church, Rev. Dan Green officiating. Iyoupe, Frank Sheldon Jr. -54, Of Lakeside passed away Monday March 15, 2010 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Halifax he was the son of Lorraine (Marriott) Iyoupe, Mahone Bay and the late Frank Sr. Iyoupe. Frank was a kind gentle soul who had a love for life and laughter and loved sharing it with everyone. He always had a willingness to help anyone in need. He was a very hard worker and a jack of all trades. He spent most of his life as a long haul trucker with well over 30 years. Finally happy to be home off the road spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Frank had a passion for all things mechanical, starting with racing his first custom van to his Chevy Nova to finally his Brand New Boulevard C90T motorcycle. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father with a great smile that would light up a room, an exceptional grandfather and a loving husband and a truly loyal friend who will always be in our hearts forever and always who will always be in our hearts forever and always; we love you. Survived by his wife Carol Duffley, daughter, Julia (Neil) Lynds, Shortts Lake; grandchildren, Austin and Emma Lynds; brothers, Donnie (Tina), Black Point; Patsy (Doug), Beaver Bank; David, Cornwall; Danny, Timberlea, and Darrell, Lakeside; best friend, Greg (Linda) Bell, Hatchett Lake. Born in Indian Harbour, he was the son of the late Gordon and Maretha (Richardson) Richardson. Born in Simms Settlement she was the daughter of the late Earl and Vivian (Jollymore) Simms. Survived by brothers, Welsley, West Paradise; Albert (Diana), Simms Settlement; Ronald (Doris), Halifax and her good friend Karen, Dartmouth. CLEVELAND, Diane Shirley - 66, Indian Harbour, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2010, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Shirley (Hubley) Dorey of Tantallon. She lived in Indian Harbour for 38 years of her married life with her husband Robert (Bobby). She worked as an X-ray technician for 17 years at the Victoria General Hospital and retired in 1980 in order to raise a family. She was a stay at home mom who loved her family and always put their needs before her own. For a number of years she did volunteer work at the East St. Margaret's Elementary School where she was also a trustee and a Beaver Leader. She always looked forward to spending time with her friends and loved to travel to Maine and New Hampshire on her many summer shopping trips. She loved to read, knit and crochet and watch the many wild birds which she religiously fed every day. In the last few months of her life she was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by her friends and relatives. She is survived and will be forever missed by her husband, Robert, and son, Michael (at home) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Rodney and Reginald. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 from the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 from St. Peter's Anglican Church, Hackett's Cove. Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating. VERGE, Arthur Byron -87, of Mill Cove. It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, Arthur, on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in The Lodge, he was the oldest son of the late Byron and Lucy (Bolton) Verge. Arthur was an avid card player, enjoyed socializing and travelled extensively until health prevented. He was a fisherman in early years, and then a long haul truck driver for Seldon Miller Fisheries until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanine Shatford; brother, William (Rosanne); sister, Betty (Steve) Bainbridge; sisters-in-law, Minette, Rosa (Fred), Lillian Verge; brothers-in-law, Gilford Harnish, Blois; his two "special girls" who dearly touched his heart with their extra love and dedication, Beverly Levy and Denise Harnish, many nieces and nephews too numerous to name. He will be missed by his treasured and constant companions, kitty cats, Shelby and Blackie. Arthur was predeceased by sisters, Doris, Lily, Virginia; brothers, Albert and George. Visitation will be held 7-9:30 p.m. today and Friday 2-4 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be held Saturday 2:30 p.m. in St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove, Rev. Wyman, Dwight Ronald -62, Hubley, NS, passed away at home on March 30, 2010, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Halifax, son of the late Percy and Florence (Northup) Wyman. He was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife Cheryl (Joudrey); daughters Shelley, Lakeside and Natalie, Timberlea, grandchildren Taren and Grace Ivany and Tristan Wyman-Bird; brother Grant (Linda) Bridgewater, sisters Judi (Bruno) Pardee, Connecticut, Diann, Halifax, brother Terry, Bridgewater and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Wyman. He retired from the Scotiabank in 2004 with his last manager’s post at North and Agricola Street Branch. He was an Auxiliary Constable with the RCMP from 1988 to the present serving out of the Tantallon detachment and later at Headquarters. He was a member of the Blue Knight’s Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club N.S.1 since 2003. He was a Chief Instructor with the N.S. Safety Council Motorcycle Training Course since 2002 and later with Safety Services Nova Scotia. As with any task he undertook, he was totally committed to his work with the RCMP and as a motorcycle training instructor. His dedication to law enforcement was demonstrated March 1992 when he was awarded a Commanding Officers Commendation for his courage in chasing down and apprehending a bank robber on foot (while off duty). He enjoyed hunting/fishing and time spent at Deer Lodge II with his brother, Grant and friends. Motorcycle trips with the Blue Knights or with friends, Ed & Trish Snow, was always top on the list. Before biking, many summers were spent at Keji Park camping with the family. Our thanks to Dr. Stephanie Snow, Dr. Liam Mulroy, Joe Pratt and all the VON nurses who visited our home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday 7:30 – 9:30 PM at Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service will take place 11 AM at Birch Cove Baptist Church 50 Donaldson Avenue, Halifax. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater following the service. Flowers from immediate family only. Donations may be made to the Children’s Wish, Palliative Care Unit at VG Hospital, or a charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed.
