ZINCK, Hazel M.
ZINCK, Hazel M. - 92, formerly of Blandford, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2005,
in Oakwood Terrace, Dartmouth. Born in Aspotogan, Lunenburg Co., she was a
daughter of the late James and Annie Backman. She attended Provincial Normal
College, Truro and her teaching career lasted 20 years. She is survived by her
son, Dexter (Florence), Bedford; daughters, Maureen (Norman Ettinger), Toronto,
Ont.; Sylvia (Gary Porter), Kingston, Ont.; Alice Jackson, Dartmouth; seven
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Lee
Harold (Blandford), author of the book "The Rooster Crows at Dawn"; brothers,
Eldon, Bruce, Oscar, Warren, and Basil, and sisters, Beatrice Lewis and Carrie,
who died in infancy. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation
by request. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, in All
Saints Anglican Church, Bayswater, Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Family flowers
only. Donations in Hazel's memory may be made to Bayswater All Saints Anglican

LANG, Gordon Howard
LANG, Gordon Howard - 63, Hubbards, passed away peacefully in the New Halifax
Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Violet (McNeil)
Munroe, Halifax and the late Eurben Munroe. Surviving, besides his mother, are
sons, Derrick, Karl (Kathryn), both of Hubbards; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy),
Timberlea; brothers, Clarence (Bonnie) Munroe, Jeddore; Farrell (Sue) Munroe,
Hubbards; sisters, Beatrice (Wendell) David, Hammonds Plains; Brenda Kennedy,
Timberlea; grandchildren, Peter, Kaleigh, Kurtis, Randy and Sarah. He was
predeceased by brother, Eurben Jr.; sister, Elvina. Cremation has taken place
under the direction of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. There will be a gathering
of remembrance and celebration on Monday, May 9, from 2-4 p.m. at the home of Karl and Kathryn
Lang, 10069 St. Margaret's Bay Rd., Hubbards. In lieu of flowers, donations can

PIPPY, Violet Shirley - 71, Ingramport, passed away May 16, 2005, at home. Born
in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Geraldine (Noiles) Meisner.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda Pippy, Centreville; Crystal (Murray)
MacInnis, Ingramport; Bonita (David) Lucas Crews, Boutilier's Point; son, Terry,
Ingramport; grandchildren, Michelle, Douglas, Holly, Jason, Trevor, Diandra, and
Mariana; great-grandsons, Brandon and Dustin; brothers, Herbert (Judy), Halifax;
Roy (Ann), Ingramport; Sidney (Cathy), Hammonds Plains; sisters, Marguerite
LaPierre, Dartmouth; Jenesta Oscar, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; Gloria (Cyril)
Smith, Tantallon; Marilyn (Barry) Hubley, New Brunswick; Robin (Stephen) McIssac,
Ingramport. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon. The family will receive
visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday with a funeral service to be held 2 p.m.
Friday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon,

MASON, Mabel Harriet
MASON, Mabel Harriet - 95, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away May 23, 2005,
in North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia. Born in Peas Brook, Guysborough Co.,
she was the daughter of the late John J. Forsythe and Catherine (Kennedy) Ehler.
Mabel was an active member of St. George's Anglican Church and was the organist
for over 30 years. She was a past Matron of Mystic Star Chapter O.E.S. She
taught school in Guysborough County, Pictou County and Halifax County. Mabel
also took great pleasure in her needlework and loved to share her creations with
family. She is survived by her sons, Graham (Janet), Head of St. Margaret's Bay;
Doug (Janice), Springfield, N.B.; daughter, Vicki (Craig) Frail, Caledonia; 10
grandchildren; sister, Annie Duncan. She was predeceased by her husband, Rufus
Arthur; brother, Wilfred; sisters, Bessie Munroe, Winifred Scott. The family
will receive visitors today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral
Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday in St.
Georges Anglican Church, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, Rev. Mark Marshall

BRAGG, Minnie Elmore - 93, Halifax, passed away peacefully Friday, May 27, 2005,
in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late
Harry and Ann Rozee. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her sisters,
Mary (Phil) Brown, Halifax; Edith (Don) Mitchell, Dartmouth; and her many nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sam Bragg; brothers,
William and Horace; sister, Grace. A gathering of family and friends will be
held Tuesday, May 31, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Matthias Church Hall prior to a
funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in St. Matthias Anglican Church, Chebucto Road,
Halifax, Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial in St. James Anglican Church
