Born at Head of St. Margaret's Bay, he was a son of the late Loftas Arthur Mason (1872-1950) and Emma Pegg (Emily) Carmichael (1888-1959). Charlie grew up, living his life at Head of St. Margaret's Bay with the love of his life, Irene Lillian (Manuel), where they married and raised their children. Charlie was a kind, gentle, patient soul with never a bad word about anyone. He worked building the highway from Halifax with his father then later with Nova Scotia Power Commission until he retired, never missing a day's work. Papa spent the past five years living away from his beloved wife and family home, becoming a resident at Parkstone where he became part of another wonderful family. The nurses, PCW's, kitchen and cleaning staff loved him and treated him with such dignity and respect, and would greet us with kind words about him and what a wonderful man he truly was. The care and love that he received from these wonderful people is greatly appreciated. Alzheimer's stole Charlie from us but it couldn't steal the kindness and gentleness in his heart.
