JANES, George "Martin" - 45, Tantallon. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend on May 4, 2010, in Tantallon. Born in Halifax, he was the son of George and Alice (Seaward) Janes,Tantallon. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sandra (Clements); children, Brenden, Gillian and Mitchell, at home; sisters, Cindy, Daphne (Paul) Shea; brother, David (Valerie), all of Tantallon; father-in-law, Albert, Sydney; brothers-in-law, Albert, New Glasgow; Todd, Sydney, and special nieces and nephews. Martin took a simple approach to life in the way he valued family, friends, business associates and his time in the outdoors whether fishing, hunting, walking and special family camping time in Kejimkujik National Park. Martin was actively involved in his community supporting all charities and in particular the Indian Harbour Terry Fox Drive. He was a respected local business man and entrepreneur. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday May 7 and funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8 both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. MEEKINS, Beulah Mae - 82, of Fox Point, Lunenburg Co. It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Beulah M. Meekins, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother on Sunday May 9, 2010, in Shoreham Village, Chester. Born in Fox Point, she was a daughter of the late Murray and Ida Evelyn (Longard) Coolen. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. In her younger years mom loved to work in her flower garden, her efforts were very much rewarded with beautiful mass of colors. Surviving are daughters, Jeanne (Arles) Harnish and Judy (Gary) Harnish, both of Fox Point; brother, Harold Coolen, Chester; sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Lawrence Stevens), Chester; grandchildren, Krista, Crystal, Arles Jr. (Jennifer), Jacqueline (Michael); great grandchildren, Dawson, Natasha, Jade, Alexander, Miles, Mason and Chasity; five nieces and five nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Cecil of 63 years on February 17, 2010; sisters, Shirley and Joyce; brothers, Raymond and Gerald. The family will receive visitors 7- 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday May 13 from the Fox Point Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fox Point. Pastor Crook officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery. Family flowers only. LEWIS (McInnis), Marguerite Blanche - 65, of Cole Harbour passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at home with her family by her side. Born in Blandford she was a daughter of the late Frances (Schnare) McInnis. Marguerite will be fondly remembered for her love and affection to her family and many friends. She loved to travel with her husband to her favourite destination, Cuba. She was an avid cook and enjoyed having family and friends over for meals. Marguerite and Courtney loved to go dancing in their earlier years; their dancing spot was the Legion on Cunard Street where they met for the first time. Survived by her loving husband, Courtney; wonderful and loving children, son, Kevin (Doris) Pace, Dartmouth; and daughter, Cindy (Jim), Dolan, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Jennifer Publicover, Dartmouth; Billy Burgoyne, Saskatchewan; Kathy Burgoyne, Dartmouth; great-grandson, Brody Burgoyne, Dartmouth; brothers, Fenton, Sims Settlement; Marshall, Northwest Cove; several nieces and nephews; ex-son-in-law, Randy Burgoyne, Saskatchewan; ex-sisters-in-law, Gail, Whiteslake; Kay, Halifax; Peggy, Eastern Passage; Velva, Dartmouth; brother-in-law, Art, Dartmouth. REDMOND, Mary Christina - 75, of Glen Margaret passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Berwick she was the daughter of the late John William and Mary Madeline (Bennett) Hubley. Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Before Mary was married she worked as a telephone operator. She was a lifetime member of the UCW, taught Sunday school and was a member of the coffee club, Red Hat Society and William Black Memorial Church where she was a choir member for many years. Mary loved to play cards, did wonderful needlework and loved to spend time with family and friends. <EP,1>Survived by her husband, Gerald; sons, Shawn (Andrea), Glen Margaret; Darrin (Patti), Truro; daughter, Carla (Calvin) Burchell, Glen Margaret; grandchildren, Emily (Mike) McDonah, Amanda and Jessica Redmond; great grandchild, Phinn McDonah. The family will receive visitors 4-7 p.m. Wednesday May 19th in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. SHECK, Shirwood Judson- 74, Simms Settlement, passed away Friday May 21, 2010 at home. Born in New Salem, Colchester Co., Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Brown) Sheck of Parrsboro. Shirwood spent 13 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving 2 years in France. He moved to the lower main land of British Columbia where he completed a commerce degree at UBC. For the next 35 years he owned and operated a consulting company working primarily with concrete remedial situations in nuclear power plants in over 40 countries. His last 5 years was spent in real estate in Abbots, BC. He is survived by his loving and gracious wife Anne, two children Cheryl and Mark both of BC; three grandchildren, Levi, Glenn and Ryan; six great grandchildren; twin brother, Norwood (Evelyn), Port Alberni, BC; sister Dora Melanson, Hubbards; two nephews; Anne’s 5 children, 11 great grandchildren  and 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Orr Sheck; sisters, Dale and Alwinda (Billy). Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday May 29th from St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Hubbards. Rev.
