RHYNO, Amy Doris - Halifax, formerly of Head of St. Margaret's Bay. On November
3, 2004, at the age of 85, Mom began a new journey. She passed away peacefully
surrounded by her family in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Head of St.
Margaret's Bay, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Jessie (McLean)
MacLean. Surviving are sons, Jim (June), Eugene "Bub" (Paulette), both of Head
of St. Margaret's Bay; Rick, Timberlea; daughters, Donna (Gordie) Robinson,
Nicholsville; Betty-Lou (Bill) MacInnis, Ingramport; Debbie (Ted) Weldon, Head
of St. Margaret's Bay; Faith (Arnold) Howatt, Prince Edward Island; brothers,
Lloyd (Betty) MacLean, Middle Stewiacke; Dewey (Rhoda), Dartmouth; sister,
Shirley MacKay, New Germany; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond; many brothers and
sisters. The family will receive visitors Friday from 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A.
Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service will be
held 11 a.m. Saturday in St. George's Anglican Church, Head of St. Margaret's
Bay, Rev. Mark Marshal officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association. We would like

RODGERS, Margery Isobel
RODGERS, Margery Isobel - 93 years of age, resided in Halifax and formerly of
Vernon, B.C., passed away peacefully with family present on Saturday, November
6, 2004, in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. She was predeceased by husband,
Eric Hugh Rodgers. Born in England, she is mourned by sons, Martin and wife
Carol, Jeremy and wife Margit; grandchildren, John, Michelle, Andrew, Helen and
Christopher; as well as four great-grandchildren. We celebrate her life. She has
left us many joyful memories. Heaven has gained a jewel, a dancer and singer, an
actress and an athlete. You will always be loved and missed. The family would
like to thank the wonderful staff of Parkstone, Point Pleasant Way, Rev. Mark
Marshall and Mr. Ronald A. Walker. Memorial service in St. Margaret's Anglican
Church, Tantallon, on Wednesday, November 10, at 11 a.m. Donations to Alzheimer

SNAIR, Daniel Lee "Dan"
SNAIR, Daniel Lee "Dan" - 65, Rose Villa, Old Sackville Road, passed away
November 8, 2004. Born in Ingramport, he was a son of the late Firman and Nellie
(Manuel) Snair. In his youth, Dan enjoyed the outdoors, swimming in the Ingram
River and hunting and fishing in the local area. Dan is survived by many
brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and friends and will be strongly
remembered by all. Surviving are sisters, Kathleen (Clemeth) Nickerson, Ontario;
Gwen (Wayne) Brown, Ontario; Dorothy Lohnes, Hubbards; Elizabeth Childs,
Boutilier's Point; brothers, Byron (Joan) Snair, Boutilier's Point; Reginald
(Marion) Snair, Boutilier's Point; Clifford Snair, Ingramport; Albert (Veronica)
Snair, Ingramport; Keith (Ethel) Snair, Ingramport; Eric (Doris) Snair, Ontario;
Arthur Snair, Ontario; Malcom Snair, Ingramport; brother-in-law, Ralph Walthers,
Greenfield. Dan was predeceased by sister, Evelyn Walthers; brother, Gordie (who
died in infancy); brothers-in-law, Kingsley Lohnes and John Childs;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Snair. Dan will be sadly missed by special friend Gloria
of Rose Villa and his large extended family at the home. Family will receive
visitors Thursday from 7-8 p.m., with prayers and reception to follow at 8 p.m.,
in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Highway 333, Peggy's Cove Road. A

SAMSON, David Ambroise - 79, Fox Point, passed away Friday, November 12, 2004,
at home. Born Samsonville, Richmond Co. he was a son of the late Leo and Irene
(Sampson) Samson. He is survived by his wife, the former Eula C. Britten; son,
Donald (Linda), Meagher's Grant; daughters, Shirley (Bobby) Perrier; Judy (Rene)
Belmare, both of Fox Point; brothers, Cyril (Kay), Tantallon; Amadee
(Katherine), Liverpool; Dan (Beulah), Truro; John, Ontario; sisters, Agnes (Dan)
Campbell, Samsonville, Cecilia Van Horne, Magdalen Islands; Barbara (West)
Kendle, Truro; Tim (Sherrie), Samson, Fort McMurray; Troy (Kim) Perrier, Fox
Point; David (Sue) Theriault, Halifax; great-granddaughters, Brittney and Sarah
Perrier. He was predeceased by brothers, Oswald, Edwin, Stan; sisters, Rita and
Katherine. Funeral mass celebrating the life of David will be held Tuesday at 2
p.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hubbards, Father Paul Morris officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Sims Settlement. In lieu of flowers

SLY, Hazel Marie
SLY, Hazel Marie - 79, Halifax, passed away November 15, 2004, in QEII Health
Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Kingston, Ont., she was a daughter of the late
Ross Isaac and Florence (Roblin) LaRose. Hazel will be remembered by her family
as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are sons, Art (Roberta),
Stillwater Lake; Reg (Ella), Hammonds Plains; Terry (Susan), Sherwood Park,
Alta.; grandchildren, Trevor, Timothy, Stacey, Rachel, Rob, Kelsey, and Chenoa;
great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Logan. She was predeceased by her husband,
Delbert, and a number of brothers and sisters. Visitation will be today 7-9 p.m.
with funeral service Wednesday at 11 a.m., both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral
Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd. (Hwy. No. 333), Tantallon, Rev. Jim Forbes
officiating. Burial to follow in William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret.

KENNEDY, Ethel Lorraine
KENNEDY, Ethel Lorraine - 84, Boutilier's Point, passed away Wednesday, November
24, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. She was born in Tantallon and was
the eldest daughter of the late Wentworth and Maggie (Slauenwhite) Boutilier.
She was raised and schooled on Croucher's Island in St. Margaret's Bay, where
her father was the lightkeeper for 22 years. For the past three years, Ethel was
tenderly cared for by Liza and Tommy Selig in their home in Tantallon. She is
survived by son, David (Peggy), Riverview, N.B.; daughters, Gwen Christie,
Boutilier's Point; Faye (Wallace) Walker, Halifax; grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa)
Walker, Tantallon; Kenneth (Peggy) Kennedy, Pembroke, Ont.; Leanne (Guy
Hermanson) Christie, Dartmouth; Carol Anne (Jamie) Clarke, Waverley; Heather
(Martin) Montplaisir, Moncton; Christine Kennedy, Kitchener, Ont.;
great-grandchildren, McKaela and Alden Kennedy, Rachel Walker; sisters,
Geraldine Stevens and Joyce Cook, both of Upper Tantallon; brother, Wayne
(Maxine), Ottawa, and two special nieces, Debbie (Wade) Wilson, and Tanya
(Derek) Gadsden. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Harold; son,
Blaine, and two grandchildren; brother, Bertram Boutiler, and son-in-law Peter
Christie. Ethel was a member of St. James' Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point,
and was an honorary member of the Anglican Church Women's Group. She was also a
member and former secretary of the White Caps Seniors group in St. Margaret's
Bay. Ethel was a charter and life member of Mystic Star Chapter No. 40, Order of
the Eastern Star and proudly received her 50 year jewel in 2001. She was a
dedicated member and held offices for 41 years including Worthy Matron on two
occasions, and was Chapter Chaplain for 16 years, her favourite office. She was
Grand Representative of Illinois from 1975-77 in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward
Island and was an active member of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club, in
which she held the office of Chaplain for many years. Visitation 5-9 p.m., with
an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., both held today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral
Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Hwy. 333, Tantallon. Funeral service 2 p.m.
Saturday in St. James' Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Mark Marshall
officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will
be gratefully received by the ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious
