ZINCK, Michael Thomas- 61, East Dover, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Balfour and Mary (Brennan) Zinck. Mike worked many years in the fishing industry as a fisherman and broker. He was an avid sportsman; he pitched in the first Olympic softball games held in Halifax (no hitter). He was a dedicated Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa M. Foran; sons, Daniel (Lillian) Provost, Michael (Jennifer) Zinck, both of East Dover; David (Colleen) Zinck, Hackett's Cove; Troy Provost, East Dover; sister, Cathy (Weldon) Zinck, East Dover; son-in-law, Mark Boutilier; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by daughter, Sonya Boutilier; infant sister, Deborah. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 5. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 6, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Les Ingram officiating. MILLER, Martin Robert -90, Halifax, passed away Thursday November 20, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Hubbards, he was the son of the late Josiah and Bertha (Harnish) Miller. Survived by adopted grandchildren, Glenda (Neville) Oliver, Halifax; as well as their children, Tyelisha, Tiffanee, Tyler, Tristan, Tayh-Liyah, Tyshon and Brooklyn, to whom he was a "a special papa"; a number of nieces; special friends, Margie, Peggy, and Dougie. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday November 25, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards, Rev. Dave Dellapinna officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. In lieu flowers, donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. WHITING, Gerald Boutilier -85, Boutilier's Point, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Boutilier's Point, he was the son of the late Frederick and Nellie (Boutilier) Whiting. Gerald was an electrician for Arthur and Conn and a school bus driver for the former Halifax County School Board. He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" (Manuel); sons, Gerry "Lorraine" (Lana), U.S.A.; William "Bill" (Carol), Timberlea; daughter, Linda (Ted) Brophy, Timberlea; stepdaughter, Carol (Byng) Smith, Mount Herbert, P.E.I.; grandchildren, Kim, Kregg, both of U.S.A.; Patrick, Edmonton; Katrina, Bedford; Raven, Skye, both of Prince Edward Island; great-granddaughters, Amanda and Hailey, both of U.S.A.; great-grandsons, Dominique, Bedford; Kohl, U.S.A.; sister, Marion Snair, Boutilier's Point; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth, Rupert, Vincent, Winfield, Jack; sister, Margaret. The family will receive visitors 4-6 p.m. Thursday, November 27, funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 28, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Boutilier's Point.
