STOTT, Phyllis Ada - 1915-2006.
Phyllis passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 5,
2006. Her family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff for their care
and compassion. She is survived by her four sons, Terrance (Scott), Brian
(Anne), Michael, Timothy (Jessie); niece, Vicki (Peter); eight grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Alan; brother,
Ernie; sister-in-law, Winnie, and daughter-in-law, Debbie. Phyllis was an
original, industrious woman who cared deeply for her church and family. She was
a member of the Anglican community all of her life, the last 25 years in
Blandford. As per her wishes, a family memorial service will be held at a later
date. Donations to Saint Barnabas Church, Blandford, or a charity of your choice

ZINCK, Sandra Olive - 70, West
Dover, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Blandford, she was a daughter of the late William and Amy (Boutilier)
Cleveland. Sandra survived by sons, Donald (Debbie) Cleveland, British Columbia;
Gordon Aulenback, Halifax; daughters, Mary (Earl) Dick, Connie (Lorne) Kovach,
Karen (Jeorge) MacLean, Sandra (Kelvin) Summerfeld, all of British Columbia;
Angela Murphy, Westville; Pamela (Paul) Hunter, Ardoise; brothers, Edgar
(Irene), Spryfield; L.J. (Sally), John (Christine), all of Ontario; Laurie
(Trudy), Lakeview; Walter (Corrine), Sackville; sisters, Fay Brown, Beulah
Brown, both of Ontario; Marie (James) Schroeder, Sackville; 18 grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon
Aulenback, and her second husband, Lionel Zinck; sons, Jamie and Gary Aulenback;
brother, Winston; sisters, Margaret, Audrey, and Norma. A family committal will
be held at a later date. Services have have been entrusted to Ronald A. Walker

MALCOLM, Pamela Findlay (B.A., B.Sc.,
DVM, MRCVS) - Passed away peacefully at her home in Glen Haven on September
23, 2006, following a long and courageous struggle with breast cancer. Born in
Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946, Pamela emigrated to Canada in 1951 with her family.
She was educated at MacDonald College in Montreal, Halifax Ladies College,
Dalhousie and Guelph University's Veterinary College. Prior to graduating as a
veterinary surgeon, she worked with sick kurdu herds in Kenya where she also
climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. After one year of practice in Middleton, she joined a
large animal practice in Northumberland, England for eight years. She then
returned to Nova Scotia and following a few years in local practices, she and
Donald Rushton, DVM, started the Westwood Hills Animal Hospital in Tantallon.
She was greatly loved by her patients and clients and sorely missed when forced
to retire owing to illness. Pamela was very engaged in life and particularly
loved playing golf, as well as bridge, gardening and cooking. She is survived by
her parents, Dorothy and Findlay Malcolm, Glen Haven; brother, Brian (Debora),
Montreal; niece, Andrea Ram, Banff; special friends, Mac, Lynn and Toffee. The
family wish to thank Pharmacist Pam Donaghue, Angela and Dr. Bruce Caldwell,
Gleena Thornhill and staff in the Dickson Centre for their excellent care.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Pamela's life at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pamela's memory to
Cancer Research, the Victorian Order of Nurses or St. Margaret's Bay Palliative

DOREY, Thomas Carl - 80, Hubbards,
passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 26, 2006, with his family by his side
in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. A lifelong resident of Hubbards, he was
a son of the late Almon and Jemima (MacLean) Dorey. Tom worked 43 years for the
Canadian National Railways and was a part-time lobster fisherman. Our father was
active in sports in his youth, playing hockey with the Hubbards Tunas and
softball with various teams in Hubbards. Dad was also an avid hunter, trapper
and salmon fisherman; he won a fly casting accuracy contest in 1989 at the
Atlantic Outdoor Sports and R.V. Show. He was a lifelong fan of the New York
Yankees and the Toronto Maple Leafs. As well, he and his sister, Shirley, had a
reputation for being the best "Jitterbug" dancers to set foot in the Shore Club.
Dad also knew a song for just about every word in the English language and could
sing them all beautifully. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Workman
and the nurses of 8.4 step down unit and the Emergency department of the New
Halifax Infirmary, QEII, for their care in Dad's time of need. Surviving are his
daughter, Tamar, Hubbards; son, Kirk (Rosie), Lower Sackville; grandchildren,
Amber and Cody Fryday, Hubbards; William and Meredeth Dorey, Lower Sackville;
sister, Catherine (Victor) Steele, and brothers, Daniel (Olive), Fox Point;
Arnold (Anne), Abbotsford, B.C.; sister-in-law, Nancy Dorey, Hubbards; several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and fishing partner, Louise
(Smith); sisters, Audrey Campbell and Shirley Beeler; brother, Herbert, and
half-brother, Clarence MacLean. A family committal service will be held in Pine
Hill Cemetery, Hubbards. The family will receive visitors at 2:30 p.m. Friday in
St. Luke's Anglican Church Hall, Hubbards. Services have been entrusted to
Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the to

MELANSON, Byron Edwin - 78,
Hubbards, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Born
in Ragged Reef, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Raynold and Marjorie
(Mills) Melanson. He is survived by his wife, the former Dora Sheck; son, Byron
(Anita), Ontario; sisters, Geraldine Canning, Nancy Lee (Collin) Curleigh, both
of Parrsboro; Jeannie Smith (David), River Herbert; granddaughter, Martina, and
a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday,
September 29, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will
be 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Hubbards, Father
Chinedu Chukwu officiating. Burial to take place in Catholic Church Cemetery,

DOREY, Murray Edgar - 71, Lunenburg, formerly of
Birchy Head, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006, in Harbour View Haven,
Lunenburg. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Howard and Susie (Boutilier)
Dorey. Surviving are his brother, Avon, Birchy Head; Ervin, Fox Point; sisters,
Virginia (Cecil) Lively, Beulah Croft, both of Beaver Bank; numerous nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marie in infancy. Funeral service
will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards, Rev.
Richard Moore officiating. Burial to follow in the Baptist Cemetery, Fox Point.
