SNAIR, Wilfred Beverly - 87, Black Point, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Queensland on December 14, 1919, he was a son of the late Robert and Charlotte "Lottie" (Selig) Snair. An electrician by trade, he spent his career as a civil servant, working for Transport Canada at the Robert L. Stanfield International Airport. He retired from there in 1980. Dad proudly served his country during the Second World War having seen action in Western Europe with the Canadian Grenadier Guard. His numerous decorations are testament to his courage and steadfastness. The consummate tinkerer, he was the happiest when working on his property, in his garden, and especially loved his wood pile. He is survived by his son, Peter (Judith), Black Point; daughter, Catherine (Dale) Mitchell, Hubbards; sister, Madeline "Madge" Salzman, St. Paul's, Alta.; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Lambert, Manitoba; Alexander (Shantelle), British Columbia; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Alexander, Manitoba; "Extra Special Pappa" to Robyn, Isaac and Elijah Berglund, Cole Harbour. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris K. (Hubley), in 2001; brothers, Elmer and Granville; sisters, Dolly (Gordon) Casey and Violet (Harvey) Smith; special brother-in-law, Gordon Salzman. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 17, and funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Pastor Dot Bell, LLWL officiating. A family committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. As a family, we would like to thank the nurses and doctors on 8.2 and 8.4 at QEII Health Sciences Centre, and an extra special thank you to the nurses, Eleanor and Rhonda, on 5.2 in the ICU for their exceptional care of Wilfred during this difficult time. SAMSON, Eula Claire - 81, Fox Point. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,  also affectionately known as Gaggy, who left us on Saturday, September 22, 2007. Born March 28, 1926, Eula was a daughter of the late James and Clara Britten (of Poirierville, Cape Breton). Eula was predeceased by her loving husband, David, in November 2004. She will be sadly missed by her son, Donnie (Linda) Samson, Meaghers Grant, and daughters, Judy (Rene) Bellemare, Fox Point, and Shirley (Bobby) Perrier of Fox Point. Eula will also be sadly missed by grandchildren, Troy (Kim) Perrier, David (Sue) Theriault, and Tim Samson; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Sarah Perrier, and Jarah and Lily Theriault. Coming from a big family, Eula is also survived by brothers, Lloyd (Tilda), Sydney; Bernie (Elise), Sydney, and sister, Joan (Frank), Port Hawkesbury. She was predeceased by brothers, Clem and Elmer Britten.  Eula was known for her loyal, warm, caring and generous nature towards family and friends, especially her devotion to her dogs, Missy and Sushi. Eula loved music, especially when sung by her family. Her devotion to family was always felt and will always be treasured. Eula enjoyed her many years as a school teacher in Halifax, Cape Breton, and Fox Point, retiring in 1974. She was a devoted Roman Catholic, who enjoyed the companionship received at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she looked after church records for many years. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, as per her request. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, September 27, in St. Anthony's Church, Hubbards. Burial will be alongside her husband in the parish cemetery in Sims Settlement. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society  or  S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter. BUSSEY, Kenneth George - 63, St. Margaret's Bay. Ken passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2007. Born in Oxford, England, he was the son of the late George (Letchworth, England) and Faye (Gilchirst) (Campbelltown, Scotland) Bussey. He then moved to Shearwater as a young boy after the Second World War. He was an accomplished athlete. While attending Prince Andrew High School he played on the Dartmouth High football team. As a freshman at St. F.X. in 1963, Ken played both offence and defence and was remembered as scoring the winning touchdown as the X-men defeated U of T to become the Atlantic Bowl Champions. This team was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 2003. He was especially proud of playing for Don Loney who called Ken's team the most talented team he ever coached, and also named Ken one of the top five players he ever coached. He also played two exhibition seasons with the Ottawa Roughriders. Ken was an excellent sailor, winning numerous regattas in metro and St. Margaret's Bay in the 70's on his beloved "Salty Gaels". Ken was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Canadian Army as an infantry officer. Some of his other passions were upland game hunting, paddling as a teenager at Mic Mac, annual family ski trips to Sugarloaf and later when moving his family to St. Margaret's Bay got involved in coaching and the community. Ken is survived by his children, Cal (Nancy) Bussey, St. Margaret's Bay; Pamela (Mark) Hinam, Cole Harbour; Alex (Lisa) Bussey, Truro; Gillian, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Malcolm and Georgia Bussey, Tyler and Ellie Hinam; former spouse, Terri Bussey, and best buddy, Stu Veniot. His love of the sea saw Ken retiring near the waters of St. Margaret's Bay after a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Kevin Little officiating.
